We are pleased to introduce for the first time in this edition ‘Almost Random’ on the Cyclical label. The musicians' compositions blend light and dark ambient sounds, incorporating atmospheric elements and subtle touches of symphonic scoring. Based in Scotland, Portland Vows delivers an immersive auditory experience characterized by minimalistic sparkling undertones and light female voices. Orca Attack! is Elizabeth Joan Kelly and David Rodriguez, a duo from New Orleans blending swamp rock, space opera and folk music, exemplifying certainly experimental sounds. It was sad to hear that musician Loren Nerell passed away in July 2026 at the age of 65. He dedicated many decades to blending ambient electronic music with gamelan, leaving behind a rich legacy.
