
It took a global pandemic and an almost-total disruption of the live music industry to get Ruben Polo to slow down. For many years he was tireless in his pursuit of doing right by bands he liked, throwing them shows whenever they came through Philadelphia. More recently his own band Soul Glo has taken up more time & attention, with their brand of hardcore punk finding ever-greater poignancy in a country riven with racial and economic injustice.
