In this episode, D gets personal, sharing how codependency ran her life, and how her Saturn return came in like a wrecking ball to help her rebuild her life her way.
When you grow up codependent, you don’t have the awareness to know your way of relating to others is unhealthy. It’s the water you swim in. The air you breathe.
Inevitably, codependency creates heartache. It erases identities, keeping other people plugged into the codependent person like so many IVs of an addictive drug. It destroys a codependent person’s sense of self in favor of being “nice” and accommodating to others.
The story I share in this episode is about the damage done by codependency, particularly before I had the awareness of the term. More than that, though, it’s about hope.
It’s a story of hope because once I had the language to name what I was experiencing, things started changing. I finally knew what I was up against, and I was able to choose the right tools to support myself - for me, that was my birth chart.
