It's the Summer of 1995. Kids all across theaters throughout the country are fist-pumping in anticipation for their Saturday morning show to finally hit the big screen. Parents are ushering them into seats as two things are on all their minds: "Will this movie accurately portray the extreme lifestyles of teenagers with attitude?" and "Will this movie provide me with the 7 seconds I need of my favorite 'They Might Be Giants' song?"
The movie was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and in its 96 minutes, it packed more one-liners, rockin' 90's soundtracks, and soulful eye-contact than anyone could handle that Summer.
Join the Screen Refresh crew this month as we're joined by our very own resident pink ranger, Laura, to help us tackle questions like "How long exactly is the morphin process?" or "Why didn't our highschools have competitive skydiving?"
Sit back and relax because it's morphin time this month on Screen Refresh!

Join the crew as they tackle topics like, "What exactly makes a game an RPG?" and "How important is sound and score in games?" and "Why are we not living in a world that has Pokemon Stadium 3?"
Gather your party and join the quest on this month's Rule of Thirds!

It's no secret that we're big Turtles fans here and you knew it was only a matter of time before we broke down and covered the series.
Now you may ask, "But Screen Refresh, why are you starting with the second movie?" Well we don't want to make you feel old here at Screen Refresh, but it's the 30th anniversary this month!
Then you might ask, "But the 30th anniversary of the first was last year and you didn't cover that at all!" Well we weren't a podcast then, but subscribe and join us March 5th, 2040 when we cover the 50th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1! We promise it'll be worth the wait.
For now, strap on your shells and join us for the film that brought you dancing turtles, a super Shredder, and asked the question, "Have you ever seen a turtle get down?"

The Screen Refresh gang is fighting this month. In games, that is.
Tim and Dean are missing Nick this week but managed to pick up a few new challengers in the form of Sam from the Into The Video Game Podcast and David from The Screaming Brain. They're taking a look at the fighting games that stood the test of time or captured what it was that they love about the genre.
Join them as they explore questions like "What would be the perfect vehicle for another Rock movie?", "What fighting game had the best bowling mini-game?", or "Why is 2005's Shrek Super Slam relevant to any of this?"
This is going to be a match to remember, Round 1 begins now!

We're taking a little break from the norm this week as we had the pleasure of chatting with film crew/critic/writer/podcaster/all-around great guy Steve Head!
We pick his brain on what it was like to work on films like Little Monsters and TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze, and hear some great behind the scenes stories. Prepare to wax nostalgic with us about the theater-going experience and why it's important, as well as our outpouring of love for local theaters.
Also this episode, hear us chat about what shows some of us listen to when we're not listening to ourselves, and why we need to strap a Go-Pro to Dean.
Join us for the ride and meet us back here next week for your regularly scheduled Screen Refresh!
