My initial thought listening to the guest was “this is boring”. He basically mansplained 60 years of presidential history to an audience that probably knows this stuff already. His point about charisma and electability is well taken but then he defends his decision to have dinner with Trump saying he’d be a blast. A blast? Unacceptable position and embarrassing view given how much damage, bad faith and ill will, ntm overt racism, sexism and classism (not just speech but countless actions) this president and his corrupt band of wretched goons have wrought. This guest thinks himself a liberal. Shame.

Very insightful and articulate sessions. They do a deep dive into relevant political issues that are important in our times. If you want dark, opinionated platitudes, there are plenty of alternatives. If you want to learn something insightful, this is your program. Reminds of "WooCast" which is high praise in my book.

I only just recently started listening to this one, but hosts Carlos and Dan do an excellent job in filling a massive void in the landscape of political discourse today by facilitating an ongoing, respectful dialogue between guests with different ideological viewpoints. Furthermore, they don't hesitate to put their money where their mouths are and wade directly into the fray, rather than simply sit by and play armchair quarterbacks: they themselves both ran to be delegates at this year's DNC. Carlos for Hillary Clinton, and Dan for Bernie Sanders. Dan was successfully elected as a delegate and provided a fascinating firsthand daily report from the convention floor at the end of July. Absolutely engrossing. Do yourself a favor and subscribe!

I never know what to do with politics anymore. The media machine makes so much noise I tune everything out. Dan and Carlos are fantastic hosts that want to learn more about politics, both on a local and national level. They have guests that are well informed and believe in discussion. It's so refreshing. It's also inspiring. The only negative is that they're not on a daily basis so I can hear intelligent insights about this crazy political world we're in. It's definitely a podcast that is needed right now. Thanks, fellas.

This is such a refreshing listen after being bombarded by memes and sound bites and 'unintelligible yelling'. If I were in earshot of conversation this good I would buy them a round and join in.

This podcast was recommended to me by my friend Mike Dunbar and I’ve been listening ever since. Fun, insightful and well produced. Its also very relatable… except for that Dan Gordon guy, I can’t relate to someone with such a foreign name. Carlos Foglia however, can’t get enough of his Argentine Italian voice. Pass the El Salvadorian Corn Cake!

As a big fan of Norm of the North and Kelley Blue Book, I already knew the great talent of Dan Gordon. It’s fantastic to see his well-timed jokes surrounded by intelligent discussion about the current political landscape. (He also does a great job with his conversation contributions too. Really, he does.) As someone who isn’t a politics buff by a long shot but interested in learning more in a palatable, understandable way, Schmolitics is the perfect vehicle for my fulfillment and education. Excellent guests so far. Excited to see the show continue to grow and cover topics that will allow me to feel smarter when in discussion about them with my smart friends.
