This week we add an extra Layer on Scene Stealers. We are talking about Matthew Vaughn's 2004 debut feature Layer Cake. For The Vault segment, Leo is talking about the 1986 Sylvester Stallone action flick Cobra and Charles is talking about Daniel Kaluuya's directing debut with the 2023 dystopian film The Kitchen. The main attraction is Layer Cake, which is all about gangsters and an unsuccessful drug heist. It was a breakthrough film for Daniel Craig, helping him land the Bond role and the beginning of Vaughn's rising career.  Leo and Charles discuss Craig's grounded demeanor, the misuse of an all-star cast, and an unpredictable ending. This week on Scene Stealers we are talking about our first heist documentary and it is a big one with Daniel Gordon’s Billion Dollar Heist. For The Vault we are paying our respects to the late great Carl Weathers. Charles is talking about 1996s Happy Gilmore and Leo is going deeper into the vault for 1988s Action Jackson. The main take is our first documentary feature, Billion Dollar Heist, which covers the 2016 cyber theft of the Bangladeshi Central Bank. There are a lot of moving parts but Leo and Charles cover a lot of ground, both on how the money was stolen and how it connected to past cyber-attacks. Listen right now:

It’s another episode of Scene Stealers- Archetypes Series and this week it is The Leader of the Heist Crew. These are the people that have the savvy and skill to gather a top crew, put together a plan, and execute it to perfection. There may be some familiar names on this list but when you are the top dawg, what comes with that position is all of the pressure, and everything to lose. The big five-O! This is our 50th episode of Scene Stealers and it is a good one- The Town. We saunter into The Vault and talk about a few cool movies- Charles is talking about the newly Oscar-nominated film American Fiction and Leo is playing with his toys, talking about Joe Dante's Small Soldiers. But we just want to be authentisious for this episode which is why we love talking about Ben Affleck's 2010 classic The Town. Charles discusses why The Town has one of the best heist crews and his appreciation for their scary masks, while Leo shares his Boston accent and ranks the movies directed by Affleck. Welcome to the Jungle...We've got fun and games. Well, what we have is the 49th episode of Scene Stealers. We are talking about John Huston's 1950 film The Asphalt Jungle. For The Vault, Leo is throwing jabs and talking about Rocky III. Charles has a fresh jewel from The Vault, the highly acclaimed film about the Von Erich wrestling family- The Iron Claw. The main event is The Asphalt Jungle, featuring an all-star cast of actors, Sterling Hayden, Jean Hagen, James Whitmore, Sam Jaffe, and the legendary Marilyn Monroe. Super rich kids with nothing but loose ends…This week on Scene Stealers we’re talking about Sofia Coppola’s 2013 film The Bling Ring. For The Vault Charles is still in the Christmas spirit talking about Falling for Christmas and Leo is smitten with the 2020 apocalypse movie Love and Monsters. The main take is The Bling Ring, based on actual events, about a group of privileged teenagers breaking into celebrity mansions and stealing without a care. It’s a rare episode where Leo & Charles are not in agreement which makes things even more fun. Listen now!

It’s time for the 2nd Annual Holiday Heistmas episode! This year we get a visit from a bright guest, someone who really knows how to make his presence glow. But what we're most excited about is that we are talking about the 1990 Christmas movie classic- Home Alone. Leo goes into The Vault for the new Eddie Murphy film Candy Cane Lane and Charles is searching for a Turbo Man doll with Jingle All the Way. The main movie is Home Alone and we dissect why the Wet Bandits is a great crew name, how greed gets the better of Harry & Marv, plus the ways Kevin could have helped himself. This week on Scene Stealers we bear the gift of an insightful heist movie discussion. We are talking about the 1999 film Three Kings, directed by David O. Russell. For The Vault, Leo professes his admiration for Al Pacino in the 1989 murder mystery Sea of Love, and Charles is taking us back into the web with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The main take is Three Kings, starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, and Ice Cube, as a group of soldiers in the Persian Gulf War on a mission to take gold from a bunker of Saddam Hussein. For The Vault we get animated with Leo talking about Trolls Band Together and Charles getting cooled off with Frozen.
