Esteban Gast is a comedian, writer, and speaker focused on telling stories that matter. He is the co-creator and co-host of Spotify Original podcast "Identity at Play" and the host of the podcast "Comedians Conquering Climate" which was called "irreverent but aspirational" by Variety. Esteban created and hosts two shows on SoulPancake, and a Hyundai-sponsored travel show about sustainability along with traveling all around the country to middle schools and high schools speaking about social-emotional learning. He joins us on the show to talk about his experience with being the son of two Colombian immigrants, growing up in both Puerto Rico and the suburbs of Chicago, and how that has contributed to his mental health. We also talk through how context is crucial in storytelling and understanding, along with how he takes a unique stance on healing his past traumas with a comedic perspective.
