Amazing Podcast!!!!
This podcast was recommended to me by my professor, Dr. Kang. I listened to episode 2 of the psychedelic assisted therapy series which talked about both the risks and benefits of using psychedelics to treat conditions like PTSD, depression, anxiety and substance use disorders. What stood out to me most was the discussion around harm especially the concept of ego dissolution, where a person can lose their sense of self and feel disconnected from their body and language during a psychedelic experience which can be very scary without the right preparation and support. They were open about the fact that bad trips are real and can stick with a person long after the experience but they also made a point to emphasize that these difficult experiences aren’t always a bad thing. When they happen in safe controlled settings, they can lead to real and meaningful change by helping people face and work through deep emotions like grief or fear. This episode was really helpful from a research perspective because it showed how much goes into making psychedelic therapy safe and effective including strong support and controlled environments. This is definitely something I will keep in mind when thinking about how to evaluate new and emerging treatments!!!

Very Educational!!!
I really enjoyed listening to this episode of the Sanity x ABCT podcast. As someone who is interested in pediatric psychology, I found it really interesting to learn about Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. The podcast explained the topic in a way that was easy to understand. I liked how the speakers talked about how improving the relationship between parents and children can help reduce challenging behaviors. I also liked that they talked about the role of parents, because it helps us understand the child’s side even more. I think this approach could be really helpful for families who feel like they do not have the strongest connection with each other. Overall, this episode gave a clear explanation of how therapy can help support families and children.

Sanity x ABCT What to Do about Worry
I, often, spend most of my time worrying about many things. Whether it is big things, such as my future career, or even smaller things, such as what I will be eating for dinner that night I am constantly finding myself being worried about something. A major fact I learned from this podcast is when Dr.Leahy said that worrying can lead to anxiety development because it is often true. I truly admired Dr.Leahy when he said how we should not be worrying about nonproductiveness but we should be worrying about productiveness and focus on the good and not the bad. I truly enjoyed this podcast.

Very interesting podcast!
I was recommended to listen to these podcast by my college professor. I listened to them on my iPhone in the podcast app for easy acess. I listened to the episode Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.’s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieberman. I love having a good podcast playing in my headphone while I do other things. Or just laying in bed while listening to it. I really liked how they started off strong in all the great achievements of both the guest. I don’t have children of my own but I do hope to one day therefore I believe this is an excellent podcast topic in which can help prepare me. I do however work at a daycare and i really enjoyed her first couple points where she states how children are having disruptive behaviors at school and getting help for it but then being send home for a week without the therapy. So these practices also have to be enforced at home. Working with children I see progress made and also progress being ruined because of only having limited sections. She claims to let parents know the practices she uses so they can also follow them at home. What I found most memorable about the podcast was the acronym mentioned in the podcast that they teach parents to use to show children they are listening to their child. P.R.I.D.E. Praise, reflect, imitating, describe, and enjoy. Even though this podcast is for children and parents I do believe that this podcast can in fact, help future teachers, and also using some of these tactics and techniques in order to get to a child. Learning news ways of positive communication strategies and behavior management. As a future teacher, these are all great things to learn, especially for myself going to be a new and young teacher in the environment. It is good to learn more about child Interactions. As I said before this episode is directed towards parents, but it can also be used as a teaching tool for new teachers coming into a teaching environment or even older ones who have been there to learn new methods that are more up-to-date.

Understanding of Productive vs Not Productive Worry
I have listened and enjoyed “Sanity x ABCT: What to do about Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy” Robert Leahy is an expert in cognitive therapy. Dr. Leahy discussed the concept worry and how to connects to different anxieties and cognitive behavioral therapies and studies. Something that I especially enjoyed in this podcast was the discussion on what is a productive and not productive worry. Productive worry allows a person to see a problem and take action to fix the problem, most being beneficial for that person. Unproductive worry puts a focus on things that we worry about that we can’t control. This really helped me understanding worry. This episode is a great tool for teaching because it clearly and precisely explained the concept of worry, in fairly simple terms. This shows a person how to manage a healthy worry or patterns of worry.

Great episode
After my professor, Erin Kang, recommended Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) I listened to the episode with Dr. Kate Gibson and Dr. Corey Lieneman. Since I have a minor psychology, I was very interested in the episode and it was quite easy for me to understand the content. One point I really appreciated was how the presenters pointed out that PCIT is about strengthening the parent, child bond rather than just managing the childs behavior through discipline alone. They demonstrated how positive reinforcements and good communication between parent and child not only nurture their relationship but also naturally lessen the occurrence of problem behaviors. Therefore, the idea that the therapeutic methods can be flexible and extended even to children who are teenagers left me quite intrigued.I found this episode to be very useful and enlightening session for me, as it explained how psychological science and counseling serve children and families in a number of different ways.

Great insights on sleep and mental health!
I really enjoyed listening to the episode “Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey” from the Sanity Podcast. Dr. Harvey explains the science behind sleep in a way that is easy to understand while still being very informative. One of the most interesting points was learning how important circadian rhythms are and how things like light exposure, exercise, meal timing, and consistent wake-up times can influence sleep quality. I also appreciated how the episode connected sleep to mental health, mood regulation, and daily functioning. The discussion about “social jet lag” and how irregular schedules can make people feel constantly tired really stood out to me because it is something many people experience without realizing it. Overall, this episode provided practical advice that listeners can apply to improve their sleep habits, such as maintaining consistent sleep and wake times and reducing caffeine intake later in the day. I would recommend this podcast to anyone interested in learning more about the connection between sleep, health, and psychology. I will be adding this podcast to my favorites! :)

Super Informative Podcast!!
This podcast channel, was recommended to me by my professor Erin Kang. I listened to the episode “What to Do About Worry” from the Sanity Podcast, which was part of their collaboration with the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). I listened to it on iTunes and thought it was a really interesting and helpful conversation. The episode featured Robert L. Leahy, who talked about why people worry so much and how it connects to anxiety. One thing that stood out to me was the idea that people often think worrying helps them prepare for problems, but it can actually keep them stuck in a cycle of anxiety. Dr. Leahy also talked about how learning to tolerate uncertainty can be really important for managing worry. I liked how the episode explained these ideas in a way that was easy to understand and relatable. As a student with a minor in psychology, I thought this episode was really useful because it connected cognitive behavioral therapy concepts to everyday experiences with stress and overthinking. I can also take this is into consideration in the medical field as well. I could also see this episode being helpful in a classroom since it explains worry and anxiety in a clear and practical way. Overall, I thought it was a great episode and a nice way to learn more about anxiety and CBT through the collaboration between Sanity Podcast and ABCT.

Amazing Topic/Discussion
Sanity x ABCT What to Do About Worry With Dr. Robert Leahy I spend a lot of time worrying, about big decisions, my future, and sometimes I even worry sometimes about past events and how it shaped me now. With all that worrying you can imagine the shocked that appeared when Dr.Leahy said that worrying could lead to anxiety and that anxiety undiagnosed could go on for 6-12 years. One thing that I did take away from this episode is that you do have to look worrying in a way of “acceptance” way. Dr. Leahy suggested instead of nonproductive worry we should worry productively and focuses on to constructive action plans. Overall I loved this episode because it open my mind up a bit on worrying and how to make it more positive.

Amazing Podcast
Episode 1 of the Sanity x ABCT podcast with Dr. Allison Harvey focuses on sleep health and how it connects to overall mental well-being. I found it really relatable, especially the discussion about how common habits like scrolling on your phone or staying up to finish work can throw off your sleep cycle. Dr. Harvey explains cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in a clear and realistic way, which made it easier to understand how small behavioral changes can make a big difference. This episode would be a great teaching tool because it explains research-based ideas in a way that feels practical and relevant for students and future clinicians. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone interested in psychology or mental health

Great podcast!
My professor recommended us to listen to one of these podcasts and I got great takeaways from the video. Both Dr. Gibson and Dr. Lieneman explained the principles of Parent-child interaction therapy thoroughly. I liked how it was broken down to show how this therapy strengthens the relationship between the parent and child and how it addressed behaviors that are disruptive. The information was presented very neatly and easily to follow. I also liked seeing the emphases on building positive relationships and providing good guidance for so. Overall, great podcast! It gave me a better understanding on parent-child challenges.

Fascinating Discussion
My professor had recommended this podcast for an assignment. The Sanity x ABCT episode with Dr. Jason Luoma and Dr. Brian Pilecki had offered an insight looking into psychedelic assisted therapy and THE integration with CBT. They talked about in the podcast how substance like psilocybin and MDMA are being studied for mental health treatment, and they highlighted on the potential benefits and talked about ethical concerns. What I found interesting during listening To this episode was the point of how therapies might enhance emotional processing in different ways of traditional methods struggle to achieve. I did not know what to expect while listening to this podcast, but it was very insightful and well instructed and also thought provoking listening to this.

Sanity x ABCT: Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with Dr.’s Jason Luoma and Brian Pilecki (Episode 1)
The podcast provides a thoughtful exploration of how psychedelics can dramatically alter perception, sense of self, and time, highlighting the dose-dependent nature of these effects. It also acknowledges the historical and cultural significance of psychedelics in accessing altered states of consciousness that are otherwise difficult to achieve. It points out the crucial role of set and setting—both mental and environmental factors—in shaping the psychedelic experience, contrasting different contexts like nature hikes versus therapeutic settings. The podcast with Dr.’s Luoma and Pilecki successfully highlights the potential therapeutic applications of psychedelics while also stressing the importance of careful, controlled environments for maximizing their benefits.

Review - Interesting and Informative
I found this episode to be incredibly informative as well as interesting especially because of my own history with mental health and psychiatric help. I really admire Dr Resick’s perspective on how people really do overuse the term trauma as well as her statement that recovery is always possible. A lot of what Dr Resick has said resonated with my own experiences which makes me feel incredibly seen. I find myself being interested in these sort of podcasts because it is really opening.

GREAT PODCAST!
After listening to the Sanity X ABCT Podcast with Jason Duncan, Corey Lineman, and Dr.Kate Gibson I was able to get a deeper understanding of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). I listened to the podcast on Spotify called “Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.'s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieneman (Ep. 1)” where they discussed the importance of parent child therapy and some of the impacts it can have on children. Teaching a parent how to handle a child’s behavior in a way that still maintains a positive relationship between them and the child whilst enforcing rules and behaviors that they believe their child should follow. I think one of the most memorable parts of the podcast was listening to them discuss the science behind therapeutic timeouts and the benefits that could come from implementing timeouts. I remember being a kid never really ever being put on time out or having any sort of discipline and for a long time it had a negative impact on my behavior because I knew I would only be yelled at for it, which at the time didn’t seem like much of a punishment. This podcast episode really highlighted some great methods parents can use to discipline their children and manage behaviors in a way that teaches the child lessons.

Sanity x ABCT: Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey
I recently reviewed the Sleep Health episode with Dr. Allison Harvey and Dr. Duncan, which I found to be very informative regarding how various factors can affect your sleep and circadian rhythm cycles, as well as the quality of restful and uninterrupted sleep you can acquire throughout the night. As someone who is affected by chronic sleep disorders, I find that a lot of this health anxiety physically manifests in these abnormal sleep behaviors that are difficult to dismantle, despite being entirely aware of how disruptive and harmful these habits are to my overall biological rhythms. I was especially interested in the part of the episode that discusses slow wave sleep patterns, which are affected by the level of caffeine consumption an individual has had within the day. From my personal experiences, not only do these cause physical symptoms such as irregular eye sensations or twitches, muscle spasms within the lower extremities, but irregular hormone balances as well– which may result in heightened cortisol releases at inappropriate times (like when someone is attempting to rest). I believe that the episode could have included some discussions on health anxieties and sleep disorders within their discussions of mental health, and would be excited to have an episode on this in the future!

Great episode
I found this podcast from a college course I’m taking right now. I listened to the starting a telehealth practice episode by the Sanity Podcast and the ABCT. I saw the episode on YouTube and decided to check it out on here too. The speakers were Dr. Mary Alvord and Dr. Jason Duncan discussed the ins and outs of starting a telehealth practice. The role of technology in telehealth stood out to me because of how different it is than in person services. This episode informed me about the future of therapy and technology. It’s not going anywhere and it’s being added to practices. This episode could be a really great stepping stone to whoever wants to start a telehealth practice. Definitely a great episode and others should check it out.

Great Podcast!
I listened to the episode on Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey and it was great. What I took away from this is that sleep plays an important role in mental health. When we eat healthy, exercise, and get enough sleep, we are at our best mentally and physically. But as Dr. Harvey said, it is hard to achieve even one of these objectives, let alone all three.

Informative and Interesting
I listened to the e Psychedelic Assisted Therapy episode from Sanity x ABCT on Apple Podcasts. Dr. Jason Luoma and Brian Pilecki were knowledgable about the topic, and left me with a better understanding of a practice that I have heard of but not looked into/researched. I also appreciated how they acknowledged the lack of evidence-based therapies used with psychedelics and how there needs to be more research. If more work is done in the field like Dr. Luoma and Pilecki are doing, psychedelic assisted therapies can become more useful and easier to access, which could be a game changer for those with more difficult to treat conditions. I enjoyed listening and would recommend this podcast/episode!

Sanity x ABCT: Starting a Telehealth Practice: What You Need to Know with Dr. Mary K. Alvord
I listened to “Sanity x ABCT: Starting a Telehealth Practice: What You Need to Know with Dr. Mary K. Alvord” on Youtube. The guest was Mary K. Alvord and she’s been a psychologist for more than 40 years of clinical experience. She’s the founder of Alvor Baker and Associates, a mental health private practice in Maryland. It was very interesting to learn about how to start a telehealth practice and what to expect and tackle any challenges that might come your way while opening your own telehealth. One of these challenges that Mary discussed that she went through is COVID. Mary had to go through presenting workshops and a lot of people didn’t like it because they felt in person there would be more effective. However, for the safety of both the patient and the doctor it was better to be hybrid for at least 10% of their practice. The most memorable thing that I took away from this podcast was that the doctor is very passionate about her work and helping her clients and her students from different universities to get their license in whatever state they’re in. Mary goes on about doing accommodations for two of her telehealth centers to make it into one so everyone can easily get there and not have to hustle or go through a lot to get there. This episode has helped me learn more about telehealth and how being through a telehealth call is exactly what you’re getting in person. This episode can be used as a teaching tool because it gives you the basic knowledge on how one can open their own telehealth for different diagnoses.

Drs. Jill Ehrenreich-May and Sandra Pimentel's "Sanity x ABCT: The State of ABCT" offers an in-depth look at the state of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). The discussion focused on new research, developments in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and the organization's changing priorities. With an emphasis on accessibility, diversity, and innovation in mental health treatment, both professionals provided insightful viewpoints on the fusion of science and practice. I feel that professionals and students interested in the future of cognitive behavioral therapy and evidence-based psychological interventions will find this episode to be enlightening and very informative.

Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.’s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieneman Episode
I found the Sanity and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies podcast series on Apple Podcasts. I listened to the Parent Child Interaction Therapy episode on Apple Podcasts, but I watched it on Spotify as well. I truly enjoyed listening to psychologists Dr. Kate Gibson and Dr. Corey Lieneman discuss their work in Parent Child Interaction Therapy. I appreciated learning that their approaches to improving parent-child relationships are through coaching and facilitating positive interactions between their clients. What stood out to me the most about the episode is their repeated emphasis of using positive reinforcement when working with children, especially those with behavioral challenges. I especially liked that they help parents develop pride skills, which encourage them to praise, reflect, imitate, describe, and enjoy their interactions with their children. As a prospective social worker, I hope to use these skills as a way to build positive relationships with my clients. The episode could clearly support my work as a helping professional since it showed me effective ways to interact with children and assist parents who are struggling with disciplining or connecting with their children. Overall, the episode could be used as an effective teaching tool for helping professionals as well as parents who need guidance in supporting children with and without disabilities.

Sanity x ABCT: What to Do About Worry With Dr. Robert Leahy
I recently listened to the episode What to Do About Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy, part of a collaborative series with Sanity X ABCT. I found it convenient to listen on Spotify, but it’s also available on Apple Podcasts, making it easy to access. As someone who tends to worry often, I was drawn to the episode's focus on the impact worry can have on mental health. Dr. Leahy shares valuable insights on how anxiety affects daily life and offers practical tips for managing it. One key takeaway was learning how to differentiate between productive and unproductive worry. Dr. Leahy shared a personal example of how he used productive worry to solve a problem within the same day, calming his anxiety. On the other hand, unproductive worry occurs when we have no control over a future situation, which can lead to unnecessary stress. This episode helped me better understand how to handle worry and differentiate between situations where I can take action and those beyond my control. As a future teacher, I’m always looking for tools to manage stress and support both my future students and myself. I now feel more equipped to navigate overwhelming situations and help others make sense of their feelings, whether they’re children or adults. This podcast is a valuable resource, and I plan to continue using it as a tool in my professional and personal life.

Sanity x ABCT: Sleep Health with Dr.Allison Harvey
I found the Sanity x ABCT: Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey through the Apple podcast app but I was also excited to notice that it was also available on Spotify as well as Youtube. This was helpful because I was able to listen to it through Youtube and could reference transcript through Spotify if I needed to. Dr. Allison Harvey made some interesting points emphasizing the importance of sleep and the circadian rhythm. The part that stood out to me the most was how it was referenced that young adults should be getting more sleep, about 8 and a half to 9 hours every night. I knew that teenagers and young adults needed more sleep but I didn’t realize how much more. This podcast could inform my work because teaching patients to adjust their sleeping schedule may make a substancial difference in their mental health. I think this episode could be used as a teaching tool because people can learn what changes can be made whether it be dimming the lights, cutting off as much caffeine, or going to sleep at the same time every night. I can't wait to see all of the other collaborations that ABCT decides to do!

I listened to the Sanity x ABCT episode 1: What to do about Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy. I found this podcast to be very helpful as I often am someone who worries constantly about pretty much everything. They explained exactly what worry is and how it can affect certain people. I found it interesting how he had said that we often accept things that happen even when they don’t go our way because we are able to understand that it is out of our control. He related this back to the way we should be thinking about our worries and that you can’t stress about your future put your past. Sleep Health
I listened to the podcast Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey, came across this series from the ABCT. I enjoyed hearing and learning about sleep health with Sanity x ABCT on Apple Podcast. They talk about how much sleep you get can affect your moods during the day whether it is too much sleep or too little sleep. Your caffeine intake also messes up your sleep schedule, you make think it wears off but it will kick in randomly mid sleep. Something I’ve found most memorable about the episode was hearing how we have our own clock in our brain. When the lights are dim our nucleus stimulates melatonin due to the light conditions before bedtime. If you are looking to learn about your sleeping health you should give this podcast a listen. When you have patients try to also take a look at their sleep schedule, look at how much they sleep at night, and how many naps they may take during the day.

Sanity X ABCT Parent Child Interaction Therapy
I found this podcast through a class assignment. I found it tremendously informative and a very useful tool to keep in my parenting and educator tool belt. The way Dr.Gibson and Dr. Lieneman described what made PCIT stand out from the rest of the other programs was that their focus is truly on data and the best part of all, which heighten my interest was the LIVE COACHING they do. I feel like a live coaching session truly changes the game for parents and educator going through struggles and challenges and having the live sessions is the perfect early intervention to help with the challenges they are facing before the children’s behavior get worse. I am a parent of a threenager (3 year old) haha and listening to this podcast helped me understand his tantrums a bit more and how to help the situation instead of making it worse. I also work with children in an afterschool program in a school with mostly behavioral challenged children ages 3-5. I shared this podcast with all my coworkers because I truly believe how useful the insights and advice the two Doctors gave on here would help us all grow as a team.

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy
Prior to listening to this specific episode that immediately caught my eye, I had very little knowledge on psychedelic assisted therapy. I had heard of it before, but I always figured that the FDA would deny it, due to ethical concerns and the illegality of psychedelics. In this episode of Sanity x ABCT, Dr.’s Jason Luoma and Brian Pilecki came on to talk about this particular topic and how it benefits in the realm of ABCT (which stands for the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies). For example, if executed properly in a safe environment like they touched upon in the episode, psychedelic assisted therapy could be quite helpful and a positive experience for people with mental health issues. It may very well provide them with some relief. On the other hand, despite the very obvious fact that schedule 1 drugs like MDMA, ecstasy, and other kinds of psilocybin are illegal in the US, why would the FDA permit therapists to administer them to their patients in a clinical or therapeutic setting? This episode made me look at this question with a completely different perspective than I would have before listening. To reiterate, it’s important that a therapist provides a secure space for their patient undergoing psychedelic treatment in order for the therapy to not result in harm to the patient’s psyche or physical state. Overall, I thought that this podcast was extremely informative and intriguing, which could help college students become easily absorbed in the material, thus retaining it for their general knowledge and/or future careers in the field of ABCT. I learned a lot and now I definitely want to know even more about psychedelic assisted therapy!

Sanity x ABCT: Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.'s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieneman
I came across the podcast episode through the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) website, where they frequently feature resources and discussions relevant to mental health professionals. I listened to Episode One of the Sanity x ABCT series, which focused on Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) with Dr.'s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieneman. In this episode, Dr. Gibson and Dr. Lieneman provided an insightful overview of PCIT, discussing its principles, techniques, and applications in clinical practice. They highlighted the importance of the parent-child relationship and emphasized the role of PCIT in strengthening this bond while addressing behavioral issues in children. One aspect that stood out to me was their discussion on the effectiveness of PCIT in treating disruptive behavior disorders in children. They shared compelling story and case examples that illustrated the transformative impact of PCIT on both parents and children. As a Pre-dental student getting into healthcare, this episode provided valuable insights that could inform my clinical work. The discussion deepened my understanding of PCIT techniques and strategies, offering practical guidance on how to integrate them into therapy sessions with families. Additionally, hearing from experts in the field enhanced my confidence in implementing evidence-based interventions like PCIT in my practice. I believe this episode could serve as an excellent teaching tool for students and trainees in psychology, counseling, and related fields. ABCT Podcast Review: Super Informative!
Today I listened to the first episode Sanity x ABCT: Sleep Health with Dr. Alison. I found it interesting to hear somebody with expertise address many of the small things I've been trying to do to better my sleep, as keys for promoting sleep health. Since I've become a college student, my routine varies every day and leaves plenty of potential for unexpected changes. Towards the beginning of my freshman year, I recognized that my sleep and academic schedule were constantly clashing with one another, and I knew something had to be changed. The way she emphasizes how instructing a basic routine into my life is something I found very relatable, as it felt like beforehand that I was overthinking things, and that keeping things simple like I did in high school was something not only that I was familiar with, but also something that did benefit me. Dr. Alison said that getting off electronics really helps with the process of getting ready for sleep, as the light that emits can prove to be troublesome when preparing to fall asleep. However, it wasn’t only the light from my phone that bothered me, my white plastic blinds always let in light from the streetlights in my neighborhood, and the faint brown light that would seep through always kept me up, so I’ve tried to combat this by using cloth fully blacked out curtains. After listening to this podcast, I feel secure that the advice they gave is like the steps I take in real life to improve my sleep. Sleep is very clearly a vital part of all our lives, and with this podcast I feel like they gave me the blueprint towards improvement, and it makes me feel hopeful that I can improve other aspects of my life as well.

Nonprofit Mental Health Research Careers with Dr. Shannon Blakey
I found this podcast through a Psychology class I am currently taking which covers a variety of topics I personally feel many should have some knowledge on. I listened to the episode with Dr. Shannon Blakely discussing what her experiences have been working alongside mental health research in a non-profit. I really enjoyed listening to Dr. Shannon Blakely and her experiences both before and after in the professional world in her line of work when it came to topics such as work life balance, to goals of the specific organization you may work for, and also what struggles can come into play such as funding for specific research. I found the most memorable topic was how those who work in research alongside raw topics find the balance to be able to draw a line in their work and personal life, as this line of work but also many others can relate to this. This episode can help me as a student still developing professionally on how to love what I do, find ways to make it better, but, also realize when a pause and break maybe needed. I think this episode can be a teaching tool even for those not only in this field but in any to know there is a space to learn while also giving yourself the grace!

I listened to the Sanity and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) episode 1: What to do about Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy. I found this podcast for an assignment I had to do for one of my classes. In this episode they discussed what exactly worry is and how it can effect people. It was very interesting to me because I tend to struggle with worrying over things I have no control over and have been trying to get better with it. Something that really stuck out to me about this episode was when he was discussing that a lot of the time we accept a lot of things that might not go our way because we know we can’t control it and so we need to have the same mindset when it comes to worrying. You just have to accept the fact that you can’t change the past and you can’t worry about the future. This podcast can help me in my teaching setting because I am going for speech therapy and being able to help the kids learn not to worry will make their process easier.

Great ideas!
I listened to the first episode of “What to do About Worry” with Dr. Robert Leahy for a course I am taking and it stuck with me. It was great to get a better understanding of why we worry and how we can accept and move past it. Understanding the difference between productive and unproductive worry, as well as accepting uncertainty is something that stuck with me as someone with anxiety that worries about future events often. I think this is important in understanding worry and the things we should and should not worry about. Taking action doing other things instead of worrying about things that we have no control over, or thinking what is the next course of action is another idea that I took away from this as I work on my own worry. Listening to the ideas of Dr. Leahy really helped me better understand how to control my worry and think about worrying differently. This is a great episode to listen to if you are a constant worrier to better understand how to help your mind.

Sanity x ABCT informational podcast
The podcast that I listened to was Sanity x ABCT :Parent Child Interaction Therapy with Dr.’s Kate Gibson and Corey Lieneman. I found this podcast to be very informational and interesting. I listened to this podcast on Apple Podcasts and it was reccomened through a class that I am currently taking. The guest on this podcast talked about the data that they have collected through observing the interaction and a child and their parent. They talk about the importance of postivly talking to and praising a child for what they are doing. And they also talked about they was that you should interact with your child overall. I found it really interesting how they went about their research and the way that they were able to see differently children react to things. And I think that this podcast can be really useful for those in this field because it gave a different view on things. So I would defiantly recommend giving it a listen!

Very Informative!
I chose to watch the Parent Child Interaction episode. I really enjoyed listening to the speakers talk about the importance of a child being able to associate their parents with fun and positive experiences in order for them to truly enjoy each other. Allowing a child to have that time to control the situation and use their own discernment is necessary for them to become self-sufficient individuals. This time also gives parents the ability to observe how their child makes decisions and uses their self agency, which could earn the child more independence. The 5 minute child led exercise discussed by Dr. Lieneman seems like a great learning experience for children and parents as well, and I would consider this method if I had children.

Nonprofit mental health research
I found this episode very informative and it made it easy to understand many different aspects of getting mental health care and what it entails. They spoke a lot about how different professionals help with different things and the difference between specialist and how important getting help is and how it should be encouraged and if you aren’t someone who needs help it talks about how you can get certified to help and be someone people can go to and how important it is to have specialist and the impact they make.

ABCT Review
I listened to the podcast titled “What to do about Worry with Dr. Robert Leahy”. I think that Dr. Leahy was a great guest speaker with an amazing background and was perfect for this topic. I chose this episode as I feel I’m constantly worrying. What stood out about this podcast is how relatable it is. I feel that everything that was talked about was relatable, and can really help people who often worry more than they should. This also helps with what I want to do with my work, help children. This podcast gives you ways to see different perspectives of worrying and how it could effect everyone differently. I really think this podcast could be useful for anyone struggling with worrying, and can even help as a therapy technique or help calm anxiety or nerves. I definitely recommend this podcast to those who worry and overthink.

Informative, and Captivating!
I listened Sanity x ABCT OCD Assessment and Treatment with Dr. Jonathan Abramowitz which was an introduction episode to OCD. I listened to the podcast on Apple podcasts which was accessible to me, but was also able to find it easily on Spotify. I really loved how in depth they spoke about OCD, because I personally struggle with it myself and since being diagnosed I find that most people don’t seem to understand how complex the disorder is. I appreciated the discussion of the more “taboo” intrusive thoughts because a lot of people are afraid to discuss that topic. I think by talking about intrusive thoughts we start to understand that they are just thoughts, and the stigma that people who get these intrusive thoughts aren’t bad people. I was recommended this podcast by my professor, and will definitely continue to listen! I will also be sharing this podcast with my brother who is majoring in psychology.

As someone who works with children, listening to this podcast really benefited me in many ways on how to handle disruptive behaviors. When it comes to the timeout strategy, not only is important for children to face some consequences but it’s more important for them to also understand them.

Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey
I listened to epidote 1 of Sleep Health with Dr. Allison Harvey on the Sanity podcast and ABCT. It is great to be able to listen to the pod on apple podcasts and other platforms like Spotify and YouTube! Sleep is such an important part of our life and mental health. Dr. Allison gave some really important insight for people listening to the podcast about sleep health. A big thing that she noted was that sleep although very important can vary on the needs based on the person, and can change over time. This can be really helpful for those who are reevaluating and prioritizing sleep needs.

Very Informative!
The episode I listened to in the collaboration between the Sanity Podcast and ABCT recently was episode 1 of the topic of “Sleep Health with Dr. Alison Harvey. It was great that I was able to access this podcast through ITunes and be able to understand the topic more of how lack of sleep impacts both your mental and physical health. On this specific episode where Dr. Duncan collaborated with Dr. Harvey they were able to go in depth about in what ways lack of sleep can impact your emotions, the way you talk and approach others and just the way you function through out the day. It allowed me to understand more how individuals of different ages and the content behind their lives are distinct in terms of how well the function on different hours of sleep. Yet, it is still important through teen years to get about 10 hours of sleep and as an adult at least 8. One of the topics that really stood out to me was when they mentioned the circadian rhythm since I knew nothing about it and they went on to talk about how it has to do with how on a 24 hour cycle all aspects of your life impact the way you sleep from the food you intake, to exercise, to your social environment, and especially light and dark lighting. In the aspect of light and dark they went on to mention how waking up with brighter light and upon going to sleep dimming the lights helps for waking up and sleeping at the same time every day for better function throughout the day. I think this episode really informed me and can be very helpful in my application to my future career in which I will able to help those in therapy through mental, emotional and physical health and apply these practices to those individuals and see how it affects them. Or even use it in a way to identify if that is the way they feel a certain way. This could be a great teaching tool to inform so many people in all aspects of how lack of sleep really impacts them and everyone else around them in negative ways and broadening more on that will help others wake up and address the issue. This is an incredible podcast and definitely recommend!
