I’m Tyler, and my fiancee Julia and I live and sail in Japan. We interview sailors we meet here in Japan and abroad as we will bring you along on our own journey, planning and sailing our Ingrid 38 sailboat from California to Japan.

Today we head to Nihama Marina, located on the northern coast of Shikoku, the smallest of the four main islands of Japan. Lowell Sheppard, a self-described “Never-too-later” and novice sailor, has set a goal of sailing from Japan to Vancouver, Canada, before his 70th Birthday.
