This girl me, completed a whole podcast series! I am sitting back and looking over the last 9 months of my life in total awe. In July 2020 after some real searching and praying, about current events and how I was going to use my voice to help my community, I decided to do the most courageous things which was to be vulnerable and put myself, my family and my story out into the world. It was hard and scary but I as I reflect back, I am so very glad I did it.

The term "ACEs" is an acronym for Adverse Childhood Experiences. It originated in a groundbreaking study conducted in 1995 by the Centers for Disease Control and the Kaiser Permanente health care organization in California. In this study, "ACEs" is referred to three specific kinds of adversity children faced in the home environment—various forms of physical and emotional abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. In this episode we will learn about the basics of ACEs and its impact on our lives.
