Great Treasure
I was a teammate of Julia Hanlon’s in college and I was always amazed by all of the knowledge she had about wellness, running, and yoga. I recently started listening to her podcast again. I love hearing her conversations with Abbey Cooper, Lauren Fleshman, Kara Goucher, and more. It is great that she focuses her efforts on interviewing women. Her recent episodes on eating disorders have been especially meaningful to me and I am glad to learn from her. It’s great to reconnect with Jules and hear her voice.

Just listened to the July 2016 episode with Lauren Fleshman and Melody Moore and immediately shared it with the high school girls I coach. Such a powerful message! Thank you!

One of my favorite podcasts!
Love the authenticity and holistic approach of this podcast’s take on running, mental health, nutrition, life and more! While Julia brings on guests who can discuss running, training, fueling, etc., there are so many profound nuggets of wisdom given from conversations with guests about life and their journeys outside of running. Each episode is a testament to the power of conversation & connection even in a place like sports!

The Focusing Podcast I need
Hey Julia, I'm a runner who found this podcast maybe a few months ago, and I'm so grateful to you. You bring on the most amazing women for conversations that, to my ear, are so easily focused on the deepest passions of how they connect to their sport, as opposed to just focusing on the sport or the person themselves. That's such an intimate and necessary turn from the many other running podcasts that focus so much on times and workouts and actionable advice. I love the philosophy this show effortlessly brings. I love the diversity of sports and voices. Keep it up, and I am also very intrigued by spear fishing.

Literally the best podcast out there!
Through both the inspiring guests and Julia’s calm interviewing style, I have gained so much inspiration and wisdom from listening to ROO podcasts! I get so excited when a new one appears in my iTunes library. For anyone looking for a podcast recommendation - this is the one!
You will never guess
This has brought me so much happiness
I was a camper at NKRC, which is where I first heard of Julia and took several yoga classes there. I have recently started listening to the Running On Om podcasts again and they bring me so much joy and a sense of empowerment. I recommend this podcast to anyone interested in learning the stories of incredible women. Keep up the great work Julia, it is deeply appreciated by many!

This delightful, refreshing and INSPIRING listen is more than a podcast. You will feel so much love and joy the minute Julia starts her weekly interview or roundtable. Excellent variety of guests and interviews. I listen during my runs because it always makes go faster. She leaves me wanting more. Thanks Julia!

Deep conversations, amazing host
Julia is one of the kindest, most empathetic podcast hosts you’ll ever listen to. I love the unique perspective she brings, which results in stories that intersect tough endurance sports with yoga & spirituality, therapy & mindfulness, and so much more. Thank you, Julia!

New to ROO and wishing I found it sooner!
I am a relatively new ROO listener and am so grateful to have stumbled upon this podcast. Grateful for ROO.....best podcast!
As an endurance athlete, I am so inspired to listen to the conversations on how they deal with pretty much everything in their lives. The way that they manage their struggle inspire me so much mentally, spiritually and physically too. So much growth in wisdom and in being resilient. Really super thankful for meaningful inputs ❤️❤️❤️ Looking forward to continue to be inspired!!!

The most pure conversations
I thought I had already left a review, so cannot believe how long delayed this is! That being said, I have LOVED Julia’s podcast for years. I was overjoyed when ROO returned last year and have immensely enjoyed every conversation since then. Julia is the most patient and thoughtful host and her conversations with her equally thoughtful guests always leave me asking more of myself, in the best way possible. I love listening to ROO on relaxed solo runs, these probably end up being some of my favorite miles of the week.

So glad to have found this show!
I am new to ROO; the Fast Women newsletter introduced me very recently, and I am so glad to have found this show! I love the thoughtful, insightful conversations, and appreciate the timely response to our current public health and social justice crises. I also went back to early episodes (lots of long runs to fill...), and have loved what I found from the first iteration of ROO - Ask Lauren 👍👍. Thank you for the insightful conversations with female leaders in our running community. I appreciate you and your thoughtful approach!

Inspiring
Julia brings a kindness and intelligence that allows guests to open up and tell their deeper stories. Her interview with Alex Pavin was especially in lightning regarding the difficult challenges our young athletes experience. Julia inspires me to be kinder and more open.

running on OM!
What a great podcast to listen to while I’m delivering the mail! I can always count on a great conversation, with a really interesting guest, talking about my favorite thing...RUNNING! and OM, I like that a bunch, also! Thanks for being a bright spot during these rough times, delivering far more packages than usual while everyone is staying home to avoid Covid. Always positive and I can really sense your love for the sport & joy you get from having inspiring folks join you on the podcast. Keep up the great work!

One of my favorite podcasts
This podcasts brightens my week! I listen to it on long runs, baking bread in the kitchen, walking my dog or driving in the car. Whatever I’m doing on Tuesday when the new episode of the week comes out I’m always antsy to hear the stories of such inspirational, strong women (both mentally and physically). Each week when the episode is over I feel a sense of desire to want to be like the women on ROO. Their stories are powerful and up lifting and truly shed light on the strength of women. This podcast has also led me to many others that I love like Real Talk with Nicole Antoinette and The Work, Play, Love Podcast just to name a couple. I’m so happy you decided to return to podcasting, Jules! Thank you for sharing the stories of these beautiful women.

Amazing Podcast! And I’m so glad she is back!!! I am a 2:50 marathoner who ditched yoga so I could train harder and ended up injured. Thanks to inspiration to get back in yoga from Running on Om, I am running again pain free! Love this podcast, Julia is honest and her voice has the peaceful quality of a yoga teacher. Her guests are fantastic and I look forward to every new episode. Not a fan when she and Lauren call listeners, too jarring and the people sound too surprised to be receiving call to respond coherently. Other than that- all is perfect!!!

required listening!
During COVID19 while my college teammates and I are spread out around the country instead of training & competing together, we have been exchanging media recommendations. That's how I found the ROO Molly Seidel episode, and I haven't looked back since! We now debrief new episodes regularly over Zoom. Thank you!

how awesome
What a great podcast. I love the topic of women running, but what I love more is how deep the discussions are between Julia and her guests/friends. It is much more representative of what running means to so many and the heartstrings it truly tugs. Thank you!!!

Episode , mollie s.
This was an awesome episode. I’ve listened to it twice. Before the Olympic Trials and again this week. So interesting to listen how she was going to take on the trials and the super job she did that day!!

Honest & Inspiring Conversations
I discovered this podcast after Molly Seidel placed second at the Olympic Marathon Trials and I saw she was recently featured on ROO. I gave her episode a listen and was immediately so inspired. I have listened to every episode in Chapter Two of ROO since then. This podcast has quickly become my go-to listen during my commute each day! I am always so amazed how host Julia seems to bring out sincerity, honesty and vulnerability in each of her guests. Her questions/probes are always very genuine and spark great conversation. I think this podcast especially speaks to young women who are athletes or formerly competed at the collegiate level, but I would also highly recommend to anyone who loves the outdoors / being active. If you are a first-time listener, I would highly recommend any of the Soul Sister Sessions episodes with Abbey Cooper or the episodes featuring Molly Seidel, Eliza Earle, or Clare Gallagher/Abby Levene. I found these episodes particularly inspiring, but every single episode is wonderful :)

I really enjoy this podcast
I found ROO because of Lauren Fleshman and immediately subscribed after their episode. I’ve enjoyed each one since and even went back and listened to some older ones. I appreciate the thoughtful questions and discourse. There’s so much conflict in the world these days, I really value pockets where there is none.

Love Running on Om!
I love listening to every episode of running on Om! Julia asks such insightful questions, and digs deep into the minds and thoughts of her guests. I love that so many aspects of running are discussed, not just the physical parts. Her questions help me look inside my own mind to question my existing thoughts and “whys” as well. I look forward to new episodes every week and it’s always first on my podcast queue!

I look forward to every episode!
Julia has a unique ability to ask not only the right questions but to listen and draw out thoughtful, insightful musings from her interviewees. I always walk away from the pod with a greater appreciation for where I am and with inspiration on where I want to go because of the stories I hear. Thanks for coming back to podcasting :)

My solo running partner
ROO is the podcast I can bring along with me on easy runs, long runs, and even workouts! I love listening to the conversations that Julia brings to the pod and the amazing women whose stories are told. I’ve probably alarmed more than a few people by laughing out loud to myself as I run past them, but the joy is so very real while listening! I’m grateful for the opportunity to hear about different sports and outdoor activities that have made a positive impact on the lives of these women, as well as the hardships they have coped with in their sport and in their lives. I’ve taken away so many new lessons, mantras, and ideas from ROO, and I am always excited to see a new episode appear in my feed! Thank you Julia and the whole team for creating this wonderful podcast!

Thank you, Julia!
This podcast is wonderful -- longer review below. I first met Julia while practicing yoga in Boston in 2017. In my eight years of practicing yoga, she’s been the most impactful teacher I’ve had the pleasure of learning from. She pushes her students to challenge themselves physically but also to be compassionate with their bodies, and recognize when modifications or rest may be the best form of growth. She also incorporates readings, personal stories, mantras and other elements of spirituality that challenge her students to grow emotionally as well as physically. I no longer have the privilege of practicing yoga with Julia, but I am grateful for her podcast, for it has the same elements of spirituality and introspective growth she includes in her yoga practice. As a runner, I’m intimately familiar with many of the themes she explores — from eating disorders to injury — and I’m grateful for her skilled facilitation as she delves into these topics and more with women who have devoted their lives to endurance sports. I admire Julia, and encourage anyone with a love for movement and the great outdoors to listen to running on om.

Inspirational and so fun!
This is my favorite (new to me) podcast. I am a huge fan! They are real, raw & fun. The interviews are super inspirational. I tend to listen while running or doing lame chores like ironing or folding laundry-making the time fly by! I love Julia’s calm interview style too.

Compassionate inspiration from heel to heart and head
Julia’s podcast persona is so comforting and kind--yet she cultivates conversations that ignite real, intentional changes. Her insightful conversation with Lauren Fleshman about considered eating helped me take steps I've needed to take for years: wise, kind, real.

Inspiring
I have become so inspired by these stories - realizing these athletes are just like every other human on earth not just the super hero's the media can sometimes make them out to be. The way Julia speaks with such wisdom and kindness is so unique and special to the podcast world. Love everything about it!

Listen to ROO for calm & inspiration
ROO is like my little friend in my pocket. I listen to these episodes on my runs, walks, and doing chores around the house to add light to those activities. These inspire me, amuse me, lift me up, and bring me calm and perspective on life. I was overjoyed when Julia resumes ROO after her hiatus and find joy in each episode.

Talent Self-Awareness Personified
Outstanding discussion with a talented athlete and highly self-aware person who clearly articulates the ups and downs of her progression through life. Molly’s straightforward style and willingness to share, in part for the benefit of listeners who may be having similar struggles, make this podcast highly valuable. Thanks to Julia for facilitating the discussion so well and giving Molly the freedom to follow her thoughts. Beautiful work. Thanks!
