The year was 2002 and movie goers were lining up to see the big-screen version of Spiderman. This was the Tobey Maguire version of the web-slinging superhero.
In subsequent years we would be introduced to Ironman, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, and the rest of the Avengers.
All of those mega movies came from the mind of Stan Lee... who in 2002 was 80 years old.
