Stay Strong, keep up the great work!
This an awesome podcast for everyone to hear! The topics and people who have presented and shared are truly an inspiration and great reminders that there are people out there in the rowing community working to better amplify Diversity and Inclusion. My two young daughters are rowers and were so hyped to see the photos on social media and to listen to podcasts. We are Native American and appreciate the Rowing In Color podcast hosts greatly! Please keep up the great work, we love it!!

A GIFT to the rowing world!
Two incredible members of the rowing community exposing issues of racism (among other isms) within the sport and elevating the voices and experiences of rowers of color. As a white rower, I wish this podcast had been around when I was in high school - it’s taught me so much on my journey of allyship with rowers of color. Thank you, Denise and Patricia, for all that you do!

What Rowing Needed
Ever since the launch of Rowing In Color I felt there was a significant positive shift in the rowing community! The impact is felt not from just what they are doing but what AND how they are doing it. (“It” being amplifying voices that might not usually be heard within the rowing community.) Keep listening if you aren’t already! Rowing in Color changed my life and brought comfort, relatability and hope for the future of generations to come in our sport!

Leading the way
In two short years, Rowing In Color has made a profound impact in the world of rowing. The podcast amplifies voices of rowers of color from across the country and even internationally. You’ll hear about diversity and inclusion straight from the people who have the lived experience. You’ll hear from a variety of athletes in a variety of roles from a variety of backgrounds. They most recently covered ocean rowers, proving that they’re always at the forefront of what’s new and exciting in our sport.
On top of that, this podcast is easy listening while multitasking and my number one choice for an uplifting message. The topics may be serious but the hosts’ laughter and hope is contagious.
Rowing is changing and Rowing In Color is leading the way.

Powerful & Timely
This podcast is exactly what the rowing world needs to hear right now! Denise and Patricia do an incredible job of amplifying the voices of BIPOC within our rowing community and provide a space for their experiences to resonate with the listener. Rowing In Color give us all the opportunity to listen, learn, reflect and grow into better people and better stewards of rowing. This is a must- listen and a must-learn-from podcast for the global rowing community.

Every Rowing Coach Needs This
As a former coxswain and aspiring coach, this podcast is a must to listen to. When USRowing put together their webinar featuring Rowing In Color, I shared it with everyone I knew involved with rowing at both my college and high school. People ARE listening to this podcast and I hope that rowing as a whole becomes more equitable, this podcast is that first step. Thank you Denise and Patricia!!!

Necessary & Informative
As a former rower who graduated in 2019, I wish I had been more aware at the time of the experiences of BIPOC rowers and the ongoing issues they face within our sport. That being said, I am grateful for this podcast as it has been extremely informative in making myself and others aware of how race continues to impact BIPOC rowers in our largely white-dominated sport. I will continue to recommend this podcast to friends in and outside of the rowing community, and I will utilize what I have learned (and continue to learn) wherever I re-enter the rowing world (whether as a teammate, coach, or simply a bystander) to help make our sport an inclusive place for all, regardless of skin color.

This Podcast is Soooo Needed
My favorite thing about the RIC Podcast is that every time I listen, the discussion includes topics that aren’t publicly spoken about in rowing but need to be. The discussions about what BIPOC rowers experience in rowing are invaluable to all rowers. Topics about what LGBTQIA2S+ rowers experience in rowing are also appreciated and needed. Thank you for this. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

This podcast is so important
I’m so grateful to have discovered Rowing in Color. Denise and Patricia have created a platform that is very special to the people of color in rowing. As a black rower (college), it has been incredibly motivational to hear the success stories of the rowers who have helped pave the way and I’m grateful for being given the opportunity to share my own journey.
I don’t think there is a more relevant time than now to address some of the major shortcomings within our sport. I’m looking forward to continuing the conversation amongst my own teammates and the network of rowers of color I have found through this podcast. Please continue.

Finally
As a coach who has spent the past 20 years working in different contexts (public/underserved/private/wealthy/MW/NE/PNW/etc.) I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to come across this Podcast.
Full disclosure: I’m about as white (and male!) as it gets.
While I subscribed, initially, to hear more from some of the great athletes of color in our sport, I keep listening because of the platform this podcast has given to the current men/women/boys/girls of color whose voices I have yet to hear—it has been extremely valuable as a source of knowledge for myself in continuing to work towards building an accessible environment for every member of our community.
As long as this podcast continues to feature these strong, young voices, I will continue to listen!
PS The episode, “5 Things Your White Coach Needs to Hear” should be required listening for anyone calling themselves a coach in our sport.

Unique perspective
Being a person of color, when ever I experience discrimination and share it with a non person of color they are shocked. People of color are use to discrimination. So I’m glad this podcast exist to shed a light on the issue with in the sport of rowing. But more importantly shedding a light of the positive, which is people of color excelling in the sport of rowing.
