Partnering with the Holy Spirit in Perilous Times
Perilous = times of stress, harsh, fierce, savage, hard to bear, troublesome, dangerous John 16:13 - When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 – “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron….” Jude 1:3-4  Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

The Preeminence of Christ - Only Christ Jesus satisfies our hearts
Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The Power of the Decreed Word
The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty,       creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,       who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate,       was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell.       The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven       and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit,       the holy catholic* church,       the communion of saints,       the forgiveness of sins,       the resurrection of the body,       and the life everlasting. Amen. Our very entrance into this profound relationship with God comes to us by an act of faith in his gift of grace given us. This action of faith starts with: 1. Speaking 2. Believing Confess – homologeo = To say the same thing as another; to agree with; to declare openly; to speak out freely Believe – pisteuo = to think to be true, to be persuaded of, place confidence in Speaking the same thing God says or what is revealed in his Word about us and believing it in your heart is how transformation happens in the follower of Jesus.

What the Resurrection Means To Who We Are in Christ
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is proof that Jesus will never die again. Romans 6:9-10 - We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is where he took the sting of death for us. 1 Corinthians 15:54b-55 “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O death, where is your victory?  O death, where is your sting?” The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the guarantee of our forgiveness of sins. 1 Corinthians 15:17 - If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have been given the gift of repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel, the Gentiles, and bound believers. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been given new birth. 1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are delivered from the future wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 - and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have the certainty of a coming day of judgment. Acts 17:31 - because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we will also be raised with Jesus. 2 Corinthians 4:14 - knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 1 Corinthians 6:14 - And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.

Jesus the Soon and Coming King
Colossians 1:12-14 -  giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 20:25-29 - But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 1 John 5:19 - We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. John 8:44 - You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Revelation 20:10 - and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Philippians 2:5-11 - Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
