Ruth Barker - 29/07/08
Ruth Barker is a Glasgow based artist and writer, exhibiting widely in the UK and internationally. Ruth has also produced a number of permanent public artworks and commissions and is editor of PAR+S, Co-director of Washington Garcia Gallery and a board member of Glasgow Sculpture Studios. Ruth spoke about how her concerns as an artist are reflected through the different commissions she undertakes as well as her gallery work. She then gave a live performance of "Death Witness Burial" - a 20 minute reading of a text linking three separate but interrelated ideas. "Death Witness Burial" is a new performance work that was commissioned by Castlefield Gallery, Manchester, earlier in 2008.
