It’s fun learning about some of my favorite songs and artists with this podcast. Also pretty goofy in a good way.

This is definitely one of the best podcast I’ve listened to by far! It’s well-researched and well-written. The humor is on par and the connections between so many different songs is astounding. This is a perfect example of a podcast that keeps its novice music listeners engaged and with it while still providing fun new insights to even the most learned musicians out there. All in all a very well done podcast and would highly recommend!

I love the story of a story, be that a song, a lyric, poetry or a novel. These two gentlemen are bringing that and then some. They’re digging deep and proving that indeed, “everything old is new again”. So well done!

I think the thing I like the most about Riffs on Riffs is Joe and Toby’s personal music backgrounds provide for a wide variety of perspective and makes each episode feel like, not only the audience, but even they are learning something each show. So here I was sitting next to Toby on a plane, listening to random podcasts. He introduces himself and tells me about this podcast. Here I am the day after, loving it. Already listened to several episodes. Can’t wait to listen to them all! Combines great music with basically the history of it, which brings out the nerd in me!

This show has the perfect combination of humor, information and overall entertainment! The hosts compliment each other well and it’s very easy to listen to. I have literally learned something every show.

Joe and Toby deliver -- great rapport and great stories combined with personal asides (they're both accomplished musicians) to produce mashmix genealogies of classic and not-quite-classic pop tunes. These guys know their stuff--and their preparation is solid. No "aah"s or "umm"s, and only in the rarest moments do they actually leave a thread untied back to the core of the story. Riffs on Riffs is the real deal.

This podcast is a “must-listen” for anyone who is starving for some elevated conversation about music. Joe and Toby provide a diverse array of tunes with incredibly interesting background. I particularly appreciate the way they “tie it all together” and take you on a truly creative journey. You’ll love this podcast.
