Chandra Jarrett was sexually abused by a pastor while being counseled about divorce. She felt helpless and violated. Unable to use her voice, she wrote letters to the pastor asking him not to touch her only to be sent to the prayer room. In this episode, Chandra shares how this experience affected her life and how she went from Victim to Victor. It was painful to revisit the pain of her past and forgive this man but as you will hear forgiveness set her free to live a new like and rewrite her story. Chandra now uses the pain of her past to help others by collapsing the time of their healing to live victoriously. She warns people to beware of pastors or leaders who prey on others. Trust the Holy Spirit, know God's word and don't allow people to define God. What do you do when the place of healing becomes a place of pain? What happens when pastors are perpetrators preying on people in church? How does one cling to the Creator when church hurts?Chandra Jarrett has experienced her share of church hurt from being sexually abused by a pastor to being called a Jezebel and put out of the church by another pastor. Although she's left the church multiple times, she's always clung to Jesus in the midst of the pain. Church people can be messy and dirty but don't allow them to define God. Chandra encourages anyone who has experienced church hurt to know God for yourself. She says "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." Give God another chance.Scripture: Psalm 34:19Music: http://podsummit.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Toms-Drops.mp3I do not own the rights to this music.

June 26, 2015, Chandra Jarrett was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and it would change her life. In this episode, she shares how she shifted from fear to faith - giving thanks to God for allowing her to slow down, reflect, asses and reset her life. Chandra developed personal declarations to help her through the tough days and encouraged her family/friends to 1) remind her of God's promise that she would live and not die, 2) speak God's word to her, and 3) make her laugh when she was down. She fought for her life and today she's thankful to be alive. Chandra Jarrett shares her personal struggle with being overweight, addicted to food and lack of exercise. She also shares her professional struggle of being unable to complete graduate school after beginning at least 4 different programs. Chandra says that "perfection is often rooted in pride. It's our need to perform to please other people." As she learns to be comfortable in her own skin as the person God created her to be, Chandra offers 4 tips to Rewrite Your Story: 1) be honest - life is hard sometimes, 2) give yourself grace - no one is perfect, 3) be who God created you to be - no more comparing yourself to others, and 4) Don't quit! Don't give up while doing well. God has promised a harvest if we don't faint.Scriptures: Galatians 6:1-10; Ecclesiastes 9:11Music: http://podsummit.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Toms-Drops.mp3I do not own the rights to this music.

Chandra Jarrett answers the questions: Why dig up the past? What's the point in going back to past pain? Why stir up old emotions? Chandra considers pain as a friend - a messenger to inform us of growth, unhealed wounds or longings in our heart. She shares the value in listening to pain and responding in a healthy way. Going back to painful experiences is not easy, yet necessary to heal and rewrite our story. In order to Rewrite Your Story, Chandra recommends you 1) seek healing resources, 2) keep an open mind, 3) get what you need and leave, 4) take power over your pain and past, and 5) help others avoid the pain you've experienced. You too can Rewrite Your Story by Going Back to Go Forward.Scripture: Colossians 3:15Resources:https://desertstream.org/ (sexual and relational healing)http://www.hopewellmin.org/ (Christian counseling)Music: http://podsummit.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Toms-Drops.mp3I do not own the rights to this music.
