Ep. 13 | Curating a Culture of Strength: Beyond the Big Ten with Kevin Schultz
We go back into the Revealing Strength vault from Summer 2017 and bring you something BIG--big as in the BIG TEN. Last August your hosts Eric and Julie travelled to Badger Country (Madison, Wisconsin) to train, talk, and watch the CrossFit Games. While we were there, were so fortunate to have the opportunity and time to spend with Kevin Schultz, Director of Olympic Strength and Conditioning at the University of Wisconsin. Kevin Schultz gives us real talk on the life of a strength and conditioning coach, how the road to get to a leading Division 1 program includes much more than "just being a strength coach." Kevin tells it like it is and goes beyond the barbell, the football field, the court, and the track. This is a must-listen for any one who is or aspires to be a strength and conditioning coach or work in the world of college athletics. Ep. 10 | Mastering the CrossFit Games w/ Bob Boshoven, 2017 Masters 55-59 Silver Medalist
Episode 10 has a special places in our hearts--one of our favorites to date. After the dust of the 2017 CrossFit Games in Madison, WI had settled, a very humble man with a few grey hairs met us at Lifetime Fitness in Novi, Michigan to talk to us about what it's like to be over the age of 55 and more fit than most of us. Truth be told, we fan-boy & fan-girled out pretty hardcore because Robert (Bob) Boshoven is not only a local legend in the CrossFit, coaching, wrestling, teaching, and fitness community, but he's also a CrossFit Games silver medalist. We talked about training life, coaching life, family life, and the thrill of standing on the CrossFit Games podium. No matter what your age, Bob's interview will warm your heart, fuel your fire for training, and make you smile. How to get ahold of Bob Boshoven: Instagram: @coachbosh Facebook: Robert Boshoven Email: [email protected] Episode technical note: We are pulling this from the vault of a number of recordings done in August 2017. At the time of this recording, Bob had finished 3rd (bronze) in the 2017 CrossFit Games. On Oct. 3, 2017, CrossFit Games released a statement regarding a number of Games athletes who had failed drug tests--one was the Masters Men's 55-59 second-place finisher. Since this athlete was disqualified, Bob was then named the second place finisher and silver medalist in this division.
