Potential
I was a huge fan of this series when it came out. It was intentionally cheesy, had a fun mystery and you could tell the cast and crew enjoyed working together. They even had some meta engagement which I thought was kinda intriguing. However, they quickly abandoned this show from the looks of it as soon as other fires started to burn. It truly is unfortunate but it is still a fun listen even if you will most like not hear a conclusion.

Can’t wait for it to get back
This show has a really charming vibe. It’s funny but they mystery is solid and the characters are really good. I’m interested to see where they take it next

Pure genius
I was hooked on every single twist & turn of each episode of return home & I am now fan of any project this team gets involved with . While I do desperately want a new season , absence makes the heart grow fonder & I am willing to wait because I know it will be worth it .

This is very fun and interesting. It’s very much a cross between Monster of the week and Welcome to Nightvale. If you love either of those or anything like them, you will like this!!

Great Fun!!!
An enjoyable ride! The characters are quirky & always bring a smile to my face! It is truly one of my favorites! I hope they continue with a new season!!!

Frustrating
The narrator speaks too quickly and wastes time telling us things that we can hear happening. It sounds like a kid who was called on to read in class who is rushing through the paragraph to get done because they’re anxious and want to sit.
The characters are flat. There’s not much development and the frequent hinting at past events without actually explaining them gets frustrating.
The acting is over the top and cringy! It’s almost like listening to Hannah Montana.
The story seems interesting and has potential but the negatives far outweigh the positives with this one.

Good
It is so good! I was hooked after the first episode. Will there be a season 5?

Editor needed
This is campy fun, but you all could use a good editor or director. There have been some badly mispronounced words (“wanton”, “viscous”). Also the writers sometimes use strange, archaic words or phrasings, and not on purpose. I do hope in your next endeavors you take a little more time with details. This is sloppy, and I think you are better than that.

Buddy needs a reluctant hero spin off
I enjoy his voice acting. The character has a lot of potential. I the mall/fortune cookie story arc was awesome

I like it
I like this podcast. The story line is very interesting. I’ve always been interested in stuff like this and I think horror and comedy go very good together. Episode 1 was very interesting and I can’t wait to see where it goes from there.

First time Reviewing, I need season 5!!!
Hey, this is my first review. I love this series, I binged this over 3 days. It seems to be almost 6 months from the season 4 ending. I really hope this didn’t get dropped and hope it will continue.

Good...not great
I listen to a LOT of podcasts as I work. My favorites are stories. Myths & Legends is a great one. Uncanny County is top notch. Return Home is just fine. It’s interesting enough to keep me listening...but some of the writing, dialog, etc. is cringe-worthy. The live show in the first season was hard to listen to. The audience was dishing out some polite laughter...but you could tell that for the most part they were wondering, ‘What is going on here?’ I felt embarrassed for the whole crew.
And Buddy, in particular, is extremely difficult for me to listen to. He’s supposed to be the comic sidekick...but he just comes across as annoying and unlikeable (to me anyway).
I’m only on episode 11. So maybe it will get better? I have to give these guys kudos for actually putting something together. It’s got to be a lot of work. Just seems this premise could be so much more

Staggeringly OK
28 episodes in and several times I’ve seriously considered deleting this show. I keep waiting for it to get better—and it has since the first half-dozen episodes. But the tone stays the same.
It’s hard to describe, but what I tell myself is that it’s as if several people (there are multiple writers) wrote a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction, but they had been reading a lot of Hardy Boy & Nancy Drew mysteries and had been watching every PG-13 or below rated Monster of the Week TV show and movie ever.
It’s riddled with cliches, the plots are very simplistic, the characters (except for Buddy) have virtually no chemistry, the metaplots get drawn out much too long, most of the acting is amateur (not all though—some is off-Broadway quality)
...And yet I keep listening to it!! There’s something honest about it—how everyone involved genuinely cares about making the best show they can. And regardless of the polish of the finished product, that passion keeps me coming back.

Creative and high quality fantasy horror podcast
Creative, charming, and high quality fantasy horror podcast with silly sense of humor. This one is hard to describe without giving a lot away. It's well worth a listen. Episodes are short and you'll know within 2 or 3 episodes whether you'll enjoy it.

Please come back!
I like this show-it’s very well-written and entertaining, and the characters are fully developed and well played. I binged the show in a few days! Thank you and make more please!

Awesome Show!
Just started listening yesterday and I'm already 15 shows in. Super fun adventure series with plenty of mystery and horror elements.
You can tell the cast and crew enjoy what they're doing as there's a lot of heart to the show and you actually care about the characters, which is rare for a "podcast". The sensibilities and the humor remind me of old time radio adventures but through a modern filter.
If you want to go on a fun adventure with people you'd actually enjoy hanging out with, listen to this show!

Enjoyable
I really enjoy the show. I’ve started at E1.1 and the production and acting has improved slowly through time. You have to set aside the acting talent and simply enjoy the stories. I’m loving the gay bff who is having an affair with the devil. It makes me lol. My only true complaint is the episodes lengths. But I can see that in the future they become longer so I’m excited about that! Over all keep learning and growing guys!!
Need new episodes!! I’m having Buddy withdrawals!!

Ok to start
The main character is so monotone in delivery between dialog and narrator that it is very off putting. He is just reading not playing off emotions and dialog from other characters. It’s making me not want to listen. I’ll give it a few more episodes before deleting

Unique story ruined by god awful acting
Such an interesting idea but completely ruined by awful acting. Truly terrible.

Surprisingly endearing.
Look, this is not what I would call a "good" podcast. The story is a mix of old cliches and failed attempts at subversions and clever twists. The acting ranges from "okay" to "oh god no." The writing is aggressively peppered with stilted dialogue and words that the writers clearly don't know the meaning of and the actors can't pronounce. The half-acted, half-narrated format makes it clear that audio drama is not the best medium for this story. And yet I keep listening, and looking forward to every episode, because it's just so *earnest.* Every bit of it just radiates the love that the people behind it have for this project, and they are so excited to make it the best that it can be that it's hard not to be excited for them. Don't come here looking for objective quality, but if you want to have fun with someone else's fun then this one is worth a listen.

if the shows you liked as a kid could curse
it’s a fun show that reminds me a lot of if a kid’s show writer made a show for adults. it has the generally episodic, monster-of-the-week format that i wish more “grown up” shows employed, and it keeps a lighthearted tone that, again, i wish there was more of outside of kid’s media. the characters are super fun (especially buddy!), and i’m really glad i found this podcast.

Love it
Monster of the week stories with a sense of humor. Love it. Cute story and good actors.

Bleah
I almost hated this. I stuck with it through the first season and a few into the second, hoping it would show sigs of improvement, but no. Just could not get into any of it: not the story, not the acting, not the place. Bleah.

Love the simple humor
If your looking for the serious action packed audio drama, this isn't for you. If you have a good sense of humor and find joy in the simple things. This is perfect. I love this podcast for the simple humor and good laughs. It's cheesy in a good kind of way.

Perfect over the top absurdly silly combo=fun
Over the top acting in an absurdly silly written comedic horror adventure. Somehow, it’s just the right,”over the top absurdity” combo that makes this podcast work and actually is what makes this show original and great. One of my favorites! Been listening since first aired, 2+ years ago, I always look forward to each new wacky fun episode.

Entertaining
This is a great show if you are looking for something entertaining but aren’t taking life too seriously. It’s a really neat concept and I enjoy the different issues that come up. Great to listen to on my commute!

Poor.
It seems like it could be something better but it’s not. The voice acting isn’t good and I eventually got bored. Sorry.

Too short
The episodes are ridiculously short. Every time I’m getting into the story, it ends.

and its nice to find a show as quirky as we really are. Keeps the suspense going, love the quick banter. Only wish the episodes were longer.

Great story, but...
My word the acting needs help. Serious help. I keep wanting to unsubscribe but I need to know what happens next.

Clean lyrics rating.
Rated as clean lyrics. It is not. But the style and stories are top notch.

Nicely done!!
Great podcast, cute & quirky story. Characters are like-able, acting is pretty good, and voices are not pleasant to listen to. Wish the episodes were a little longer but it’s good nonetheless.

Really good story structuring
This show not only has a ton of cool ideas in it, but it does a great job keeping questions out there and not giving all the answers right away, while also not being annoying about those questions still being out there. Stuff like Buddy’s income, Jonathan’s powers, what happened between him and Ami— stuff like that is actually enjoyable not knowing and trusting that the questions will be answered eventually.
I feel like the show would be even better without so much narration from Jonathan and just played as a straight drama. But I really like these episodes, and I’m excited to see what’s next!

Give it a few episodes
The show starts rather dark and spooky, but quickly finds it’s niche as an “X-Files” meets “Northern Exposure”. Spookiness abounds, but it’s an everyday thing for the locals. Homage is given, tropes are broken, and good times are had.

Wow
I’m kind of snobby about podcasts but this guy and his team nailed it. Never felt compelled to leave a review but thought I had to on this one. One thing I wish-longer podcasts!

What a great find!
Discovered this podcast because of EOS 10, and boy, am I pleased! Very well produced, has dash of Twin Peaks, then a healthy spoonful of Lovecraft, and just the right level of humor! :) Can't wait for more!

Excellent blend of humor and suspense
I’m not usually one for the horror genre, but this is a great podcast with a delightful cast and an entertaining show. There is a lot of humor, an intriguing mythology, and interesting monsters. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a little depth to their scares!

This show has it all.
The emotional roller coaster that is this show. One episode will have you in stitches the next you’ll be crying over the pain someone is going through. The mystery, the secrets, and the all out tomfoolery.

I want to visit Melancholy Falls!
I just started listening to this show & I’m in love! It’s a little bit of creepy, funny, silly, dramatic... you know, it’s quirky! I love it! Can’t stop listening and I’m so happy I subscribed!

Love this.
I’m not really into spooky. But this is the greatest thing I have listened to in a very long time. The mix of humor and suspense is amazing.

Incredible in story and out.
Not only is the story inspiring, spine chilling and comedic at all the right times...but the people behind it are just as amazing.
I signed up for the text group with Melancholy falls, mostly receiving weekly or monthly texts from Mr. Victor Bolvin himself about the town status, and new laws. Not only is the text thing really cool because you can 1 on 1 interact with Mr. Bolvin, but it’s really nice that the people behind it are so caring.
Recently I was going through a personal situation...and so I said heck it, let’s go talk to the man behind the city council strings himself.
He really helped me. He listened, he shared personal stories, he’s actually helping me through my situation. These people are amazing...and I say with great pleasure that Return Home is the best podcast I’ve ever listened to and gotten to know.

Amazing!
I’ve barely started the podcast, and I love it! The audio and sound effects are in excellent quality, and the lines are delivered very well! The audio itself makes the story incredibly immersive and real for the listener. The story is great, character development is on point, and you don’t get confused when listening. You really get to know Johnathon (the main character) throughout the series, and I’m glad I started to listen to it. Once I started listening to it, I couldn’t stop. Keep up the amazing work!
