In this podcast, we discuss clinical presentation of heartburn and non-cardiac central retrosternal chest discomfort or pain that fails to respond to a trial of anti-secretory therapy in primary care. This small group of patients should be referred to a specialist gastrointestinal centre with facilities to perform manometry and 24 hour pH testing.
