Stacey Copas says, “Textbook definition, resiliency is about coping, but I really felt that that sells it short.. Stacey Copas and I find common ground as we unpack her experiences with resiliency as she was faced with a life changing event at a young age. Stacey does not allow her limited mobility to hold her back in the slightest with accomplishments in the Para-athletics, acting and running for parliament, to name a few. Stacey takes a “say yes” approach to life and is the definition of a Resiliency Ninja. “It’s easier to blame, it’s easier to make excuses than it is to actually say I’m going to choose the positive, empowering path.”

This is about long term pain - not acute injuries. The kind of pain that is relentless and is there for a decade. You have to decide are you going to have a full life (and be in pain) or are you going to sulk on the couch (and be in pain.) At the end of the day, your pain isn't going away so you have to embrace it and make friends with it so you don't look back on your life and believe your physical pain won. Here's me musing about life with my chronic nerve pain (cause from a surgery in 2007). I'm many years into the pain journey and know that when my attitude dips, my pain rises. Hopefully this will help you know you're not alone and you can succeed even with chronic pain.
