Everything is already or will be software based - factories, hospitals, railway stations, telephony, vehicles, air control to name just some. And even in the private life, pupils can't do their homework anymore without a working internet connection.
However, with this mega trend also the total dependency of every individual on a 24/7 working telecommunication and IT is growing massively. What happens with autonomous cars, it the IT doesn't work? A traffic jam? Or worse?

Faire Plattformökonomie – Geht das?

Die re:publica ist eines der weltweit wichtigsten Events zu den Themen der digitalen Gesellschaft. Seit ihren Anfängen 2007 mit 700 BloggerInnen hat sie sich zu einer "Gesellschaftskonferenz" mit zuletzt 7000 TeilnehmerInnen aus allen Sparten entwickelt. Hier vermitteln die VertreterInnen der digitalen Gesellschaft Wissen und Handlungskompetenz und diskutieren die Weiterentwicklung der Wissensgesellschaft. Sie vernetzen sich mit einem heterogenen Mix aus AktivistInnen, WissenschaftlerInnen, HackerInnen, UnternehmerInnen, NGOs, JournalistInnen, BloggerInnen, Social Media- und Marketing-ExpertInnen und vielen mehr. Dadurch entstehen Innovationen und Synergien zwischen Netzpolitik, digitalem Marketing, Netz-Technologie, der digitalen Gesellschaft und (Pop-)Kultur. Rund 44 Prozent der Gäste auf der re:publica sind weiblich, kaum eine andere Veranstaltung mit vergleichbarer Ausrichtung kann eine ähnlich ausgewogene BesucherInnenstruktur vorweisen.

The re:publica is one of the largest and most exciting conferences about digital culture in the world. Since its foundation in 2007, it has grown from a cozy blogger meeting with 700 participants into a wide-ranging “society conference”, with 7000 visitors in 2015. Representatives of digital culture share their knowledge and decision-making tools, and discuss the future of the information society. Here they can mingle with activists, scientists, hackers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, journalists, social media and marketing experts, and many others. This fosters innovation and creates synergies between net politics, online marketing, network technology, digital society, and (pop) culture. What is more, around 43 percent of re:publica participants are female – far more than at many other similar events.
