Waxed and vaxxed? But dating is still so hard. In this episode, Miki shares her recent read with Danni: "Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl―A Woman's Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship" by Sherry Argov. Originally published in 2002, the book has 100 rules on how women can win a man's heart. Miki shares a few of these rules with Danni, who has not read the book, to get her raw reaction. Spoiler alert: neither of them are big fans of Sherry's advice (sorry, not sorry, Sherry!). From rules on withholding sex to playing "dumb as a fox", Miki and Danni shares their thoughts on these rules, how these rules have aged in almost two decades, and how the rules are a consequence and solution (?) to gender stereotypes in heterosexual dating and relationships. Recommendation time! Danni is excited to share an Asian American artist, Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya (@alonglastname). Based in Brooklyn, NY, Amanda is a multidisciplinary artist, and an artist-in-residence with the NYC Commission on Human Rights. She created the public art campaign in NYC, “I Still Believe in Our City”, to address the rise in anti-Asian racism during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her artwork is also featured on March's TIME magazine's issue “With Softness and Power.” (https://time.com/5947622/time-cover-anti-asian-american-violence-atlanta-shooting/).
