Great potential; ok execution.
Talented cast, good atmosphere. Too much of the framing story dialogue is “I don’t understand” or some variation of the sentiment. It gets old very quickly, especially in season 2. We know the apprentice doesn’t understand, it’s a mystery. We don’t need to be told 10x an episode. The stories themselves and how they knit together are great. I don’t pick up on the horror elements, nothing gives a sense of unease, I actually find it a very emotionally peaceful and pleasant story.

You Owe Me Damages
I had heard of this advertised on several episodes of The Magnus Archives (which I listen to regularly and all the way through. I never grow tired of it.). And I wanted to check it out before I started MA again. And all the sudden I’m crying at my desk at work because a young man gave another guy a ring, and one described his freckles. This is beautifully written. I keep waiting for it to get old or boring. But no. Thank you for yet another audio drama I adore.

Stunning, gripping, curious
Unique, poetic, pulls you into its depths, makes you think, wonder. Makes you want to start from the beginning and pay better attention. Lulls you to sleep at times except for the ads, which aren’t nearly as bad as most. ((It’s just the advertisers, all of them, are abrasive and intrusive in their style which actually makes a person not want to listen)).
This is like water that starts as ice melt at the top of a mountain, becomes a trickle over rocks, a steady stream, a little river, turns and twists, divides, sometimes a pond takes form and sometimes one already formed flows over and adds to the little torrent that’s become from just a little blip in time. Tributaries that add to and break away and some to say they saw it all and a sea for it to pour into, an ocean it becomes.
That’s this, to me, this story of stories and the places it folds and bends and is witnessed.

Was not looking for an audiobook
I realized in the middle of listening to this during my shift that I can’t actually follow what’s going on… this show has extremely long and descriptive narration that would fit better in a novel. It’s narration with the narrator also reading the dialogue of the characters and using “he said / she said” to differentiate… ie, an audiobook. I appreciate the effort made with this but it’s hard to follow along, not to mention the narrator has a high and mumbling voice which makes it even harder to follow 😭.

“Oh, THAT'S what's going on!” I literally said this out loud after I listened to the fourth episode. It's quite well done, and the creator spent a lot of time not just getting things right, but with subtle audio elements that help you fall into this mostly narrated tale. It's worth multiple listens!

Bad narration
Couldn’t make it through the first episode. Narrator sounds like she has a mouth full of mashed potatoes. I struggled to understand what she was saying through the mumbling breathy British accent. The storyline was confusing too is it on fast forward?

Compelling despite complexity
The interpersonal relationships and shifting POVs of the premise make it a challenge to parse out the narrative, but it’s worth the work. Really compelling story and an interesting concept. Mind the CWs, which are also incredibly thoughtful and complete.
Looking forward to s2!

Beautiful, emotional
I can always count on remnants to get me crying in the best way. Sad tears, happy tears, and everything in-between, remnants has it all. Each episode is listen-worthy on its own, but the fact that they all come together for a larger story just takes the show to another level. Love hanging sloth studios!

Well done! Heavy topics though
I absolutely love the show! It’s always my go to recommendation when people are asking about what audio dramas I’m listening to. The only challenge is that there are usually very heavy topics discussed in each episode and sometimes it catches me offguard when I’m on the road headed to work. A quick content, warning at the beginning I think could be really helpful for me when deciding whether or not I’m in a good head space to listen. ❤️

Superb writing and interesting premise
Been a fan of this creator for a while now and this show proves another hit is just beginning. Get on this show while the episode count is low and you won’t be disappointed.

Have a tissue box ready
I love this show! I’m going to be re-listening to this show often. It’s a really good blend of hints to the overarching mystery while also having really engaging individual stories. Like I could spend hours listening to each story. I would probably be in tears (I haven’t cried yet—thankfully since I mainly listen during my commute). I’m really fascinated by the world and can’t wait to find out what is going on.

I binged all of this show this morning after hearing an ad for it on woe.begone and I’m here to tell you that this ad did not do the show anywhere near justice. The storytelling is heartbreaking and visceral and lovely - I was just telling my partner that this is the kind of quality of writing and storytelling I’ve been craving. It’s in my top five narrative podcasts for sure, which has never happened in only six episodes. My only criticism is that I found it too early, and now I have to wait for more 😞. 15/5 ⭐️I can’t wait to see where this goes.

Wow
Beautiful on so many levels, heart breaking, the finest of storytelling so far, dramatic, scary… truly a very well rounded and impressive podcast. Crying only a few episodes in over the Silver Ring, such a touching and loving life story. Very enthusiastic to explore further into this podcast, and to hear the evolution.

Intriguing
So far it is a series of beautiful tragedies wrapped up in a intriguing larger story. I am very interested in seeing how it shakes out.

Beautiful
I didn’t know what to expect, but this podcast is actually so beautiful and visceral. The stories of their lives are so well written and well performed. I’ve already cried :,)

Absolutely Fascinating
I don’t know what I was expecting after I listened to the trailer and read the description but it definitely wasn’t this… in the best way. Incredibly well crafted and a truly fantastic listen.
