Good Pod
Very insightful and well researched. They put work and thought into both “The Iraq War” and Emo music

Great stuff
Love this show. Very well researched and executed.

Why is half of your YouTube feed stuff from other podcasts? Why is everything that comes out of your mouth something coined by Matt or Felix? What kind of name is Jordano?

Remember when is the highest form of podcasting
I came for the Sopranos and stayed for the Iraq War saga. I appreciate all the research and detailed discussions, it’s very informative and entertaining!

Oh Collette
Was a decent pod. Collette got really hung up on her own classism. So cringe. A yes horse girl.

The A&F episode made me gay and gave me an eating disorder, love it!

Why 6 Iraq episodes
Just listen to Blowback. Also, Michael Monn? Also, I too started reading the death and life of great American cities. A few times.

Excellent Show
This show is extremely well-researched and very organized; I like that the hosts take the time to lay out what each episode will cover in outline form at the opening. It’s also extremely funny, with the impressions being surprisingly great. So glad I discovered this show via their crossover episode with the guys from Michael and Us. Well worth a listen.

Not enough fat phobia and lazy research.

Perfect podcast for any 30-something idiot
Love that this show goes deep into both the detritus and serious topics of my adolescent and teen years. Appreciate having a show that dredges up my cultural memories while they do the hard work of actually reading books about it. Glad they put in the work I’m too lazy to and get to remind me of how all this era of culture impacted my brain.

The Juno Ep is especially good
This podcast is really good at tapping into the 2000s vibe. I think they should do more episodes on 9/11

Very fun show
I probably like many others discovered this through Chapo but was hooked from that episode on. Funny, super insightful…my only suggestion would have it be a little more freeform. It’s okay to stumble over your words in this format, and the audio edits can be distracting

Hilarious and informative
I genuinely feel like this is one of the only podcasts these days that holds my attention span. I’ll be honest I tend to quit on podcasts pretty easily when they go on tangents or just aren’t what I expected them to be. This pod never disappoints. I’m always laughing along, the topics stay relevant, and I feel like I usually learn at least one thing per episode whether it be about a piece of media, point in history, or political stance, and appreciate that they can keep it comedic on top of that. I originally found it just looking for something nostalgic yet funny and their Blockbuster episode really nailed it. Thanks guys!

Manic pixie dream girl episode is as lame as all the others. 5 stars

Peak millennial pod
The shuffle boys and their guests are so good at breaking down 2000s culture while examining the material conditions that created such a wild climate politically, artistically, aesthetically, and whatever other descriptors I could use to sound smart from a leftist perspective. 10/10 pod

Absolutely locked in
The Shuffle Boys are fully dialed into the vibe. Fantastically able to communicate what it was really like in the misty pasts of 2004, and also benefit enough from hindsight to observe these events with a little distance and clarity. Absolutely recommend for anyone who wants to know about stuff

Literally my favorite podcast

Podcasting-Expert
One of my favorite podcasts that consistently delivers!
Do you want to better understand how we got here today, with some analysis of conditions in the 2000’s, and the distance to examine the framing and insanity of that decade? Better yet, do you want some graduate students from Canada to explain US politics, with a studious, polite fervor- and the Canuck comedians’ hearts of darkness; from the rise of internet and video game culture to the elections, popular culture, and international warfare; from Dane Cook to the Sims to Obama; from The Sopranos to Adult Swim, the topics will pull you in! Sharp analysis, great guests, solid banter, and good pacing make this a pleasure; the analysis and research and planning that clearly goes into each episode makes this a learning experience and a sense of excitement whenever a new episode appears in my subscription. Personal favorites: Obama and the Tea Party is one I’ve listened to multiple times; all your election episodes including your recent episode about the 2004 election are audio gold! Annoying fat phobia
I just started listening to this podcast and was on track to like it but in the Coyote Ugly episode they start on the classic fat shaming, saying John Goodman needs to get on ozempic. Meh not what I need to hear right now.

That pod’ll riff
These boys have the sauce, give it a listen.

echoes in the culture
these guys are funny and give spectacular insight. Its NOT a nostalgia podcast! It is a podcast about finding echoes in the culture. How did we get here, to our current cultural moment, by remembering the cultural moment of the 2000s and how it informs our present. I love this show!

Hits the nail on the head

Really enjoy this podcast. I was ages 8-18 for the 2000s so all these episodes are right up my alley. Great commentary, especially in the most recent episode on GTA.

Dissecting the 2000s

Not merely a nostalgia vehicle
Great work! I appreciate how this show helps me reexamine the culture of my childhood and develop a better understanding of myself/the world. Y'all seem to be hitting your stride; the Pat Tillman episodemade me cry and laugh, and I look forward to what you put out next. Mystra's blessings!

Great retrospective of the 2000s
After listening to the episodes with topics I recognized twice, I started branching out into the episodes of pop culture I missed. Never would have watched Master and Commander if not for the episode on it with Everett from Age of Napoleon, but it made me interested enough to seek it out. It was indeed a Dudes Rock experience, and so is listening to Ben and Jordano.

Great podcast to do work or ride to
I’ve been listening to RS on my bike ride to work after discovering them on YouTube and they have quickly become a favorite of mine. Hopefully you become weekly at some point, but the work is quality in the meantime.

Great podcast
They had Matt Christman and therefore I love it.

We love it don’t we folks
Good pod, funny hosts whose voices you will eventually be able to tell apart.

5 stars
They sound like they’re Canadian, but in a good way.
Engine 51 Forever
The cutting
Though they try to riff in a choppy cut, the topic is poignant and nostalgic and so I’m having a great time plowing through the episodes
teddypasketti
Rough editing and lazy research
Cuts like every three words, it’s distracting and makes it hard to get through an episode. Lazy with their research - the singer of the mamas and the papas is Albert Hammond Jr (who they repeatedly refer to as Alex Hammond Jr)’s dad? Where did they even get that lol

Thanks to the shuffle bois
Pretty good podcast guys I'm liking what I'm hearing so far. Keep up the great work.
