The host, Kim Knight, is a Life Coach and Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals in helping them to uncover unhealthy patterns of relationships (including relationships with oneself) and helping them recover from emotionally unhealthy relationships and working with them to create healthier relationships with partners, family and friends. Kim is the author of the book Relationship Recipes, where she shares the necessary ingredients on what to do to create healthy relationships in in your life. Episode #15- Breaking Up is Hard to Do
In today's episode, special guest Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, joins us share her insight and strategies for getting through that break-up.  Dr. Joy is a trailblazer in fighting the stigma of seeking therapy and her knowledge and expertise in helping women heal from unhealthy and unhappy relationships provides listeners with great tips on how best to deal with the difficult emotions that arise when faced with a break-up.   Thoughts on why getting past a break up is so difficult (even when you know its for the best) are shared as well as reasons why you may continue to desire connection, even when you say the relationships is over. Dr. Joy Harden Bradford is a clinical psychologist with a practice in Atlanta, GA and she is also well known for her podcast Therapy for Black Girls.  She has also created a national directory which lists Black therapists in cities across the US, which has become an important and popular resource for those seeking therapy.  Dr. Joy has made various media appearances and has been featured in well-known publications including "O" Magazine, where she promotes the benefits and importance of seeking therapy.  Her commitment to combating the stigma of seeking help has been hugely successful, as more people of color begin to reach out for help in dealing with life's issues.
