Ok everyone, let’s have that conversation… you know, that conversation about our locs, coils and curls!

This week we begin the series on the love for our hair, and madam Fiona is in the hot seat, speaking about her journey to rocking that beautiful afro and everything in between! With some giddy laughing fits, she recounts her hits, misses and the hairstyles she REFUSED to let go of!

Under the mango tree has gone all poetic again this week with a reading of a beautiful poem written and read by Fiona, playing homage to black hair.

The Crown act - The CROWN (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) Act, first introduced to Congress in March 2019, prohibits prejudicial treatment towards individuals on the basis of their hair texture or hairstyle. This is the first step on a federal level needed to officially get the bill signed into law. The bill now goes to the Senate.
