Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy shared the update Sunday afternoon, calling the incident a "horrific tragedy." The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven, Florida, around 12:50 p.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 1. The jet departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, according to the agency. No word yet on the identities of the nine people killed on board the jet. But another report showed inflation worsened last month, and both reports add fuel to the possibility of another Federal Reserve interest rate hike this year. Third-quarter gross domestic product rose 3.4% on an annualized basis, beating expectations and the 2.5% and 2.2% growth recorded in the first and second quarters, respectively. This would mark the largest GDP growth in a year, but it’s also subject to revisions. The figure released by the government was an “advance” estimate of GDP, with two more updates scheduled between now and late December.
