Recurrent Patterns host Vaclav Vincalek speaks with Eric Siegel, PhD. about machine learning and predictive analytics.
Machine learning is rapidly expanding across the business world -- but in special industries like self-driving and medical imaging, it is especially making leaps and bounds via "deep learning". How do these two arenas compare and relate? And how do we bring the human element into the field of machine learning -- which is itself the ultimate endeavor in automation?
Eric Siegel brings that human element into his teachings more than most any other machine learning courses I've seen, and also brought it into this 35-minute discussion. Eric is the founder of Predictive Analytics World (http://www.pawcon.com), the instructor of the free-to-access "Machine Learning for Everyone" on Coursera (http://www.machinelearning.courses), and the author of "Predictive Analytics: The Power to Predict Who Will Click, Buy, Lie, or Die" (http://www.thepredictionbook.com).
