“I was basically doing cocaine pretty much on a daily basis during the '80s,” Quaid said. “I spent many, many a night screaming at God to 'Please take this away from me, I'll never do it again because I've only got an hour before I have to be at work,’” he said. “Then about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, I would be, ‘Oh, that's not so bad.’ I had a white light experience where I saw myself either dead or losing everything that meant anything to me.”

Heroin Overdose
He was a good kid with an alcoholic father who very abusive. He suffered a lot of pain while growing up. He got a neighbor girl pregnant, they had a son when he was thirteen. He continued to self-medicate with drugs and overdosed at sixteen and nearly died. He was my cousin so we brought him into our home and tried to help him for a couple of months while he lived with us. His habit grew progressively worse and we all knew this wouldn't end well.
