Reclaim the body
Reclaim the body
Mads
Reclaim the Body, that is the message, the purpose and the inspiration I hope this podcast will bring to people. We have become too disconnected from our bodies. And both within society and science, we seem to forget the importance of our bodies in regards to identity. As an embodiment sociologist, I investigate/research, dissect and reevaluate, what meaning the body caries in our modern society. My sociological knowledge will put an angle on the topics of this podcast, that you may not have considered before. Hopefully I, along with my awesome guests, will manage to challenge some of all the prejudice, still lingering out there today. This episode is all about a thing, that a lot of people around the world, seem to go crazy for... it is indeed boobs. But before anyone thinks; "this episode is just for the guys", fear not, it is all about feminine identity and what boobs mean within that context. To help me dive into this subject, I have the awesome and wonderful Charlotte aka @miss_felixity to talk about plastic surgery, self-identity, not feeling at home in your own skin, and of course; boobs. I hope you learn something from this episode and I will see you guys in the future.

Nights of Raw Animal Magnetism - Guest: Will chuMb
This time around and right in time for an otherwise very dry St. Patricks day coming up in a few days. I am throwing it back to the times of wild parties and clubbing with strangers, together with my good friend and a legend in the UK dj scene, mr. Will ChumbTogether we are getting into what makes nightlife tick, the things people do when going out, to seem attractive or get attention, as well as how difficult it has been and what you need to do, to carve out a place for altnernative people in the vibrant nightlife scene... So have a listen if you want to know if it is all down to Will's "raw animal magnetism", or if their is more to it ? There is as always lots to be learned from the episode, and I will see you guys in the future!

Sexwork, erotica and liberation - Guests Natascha and Yazzmin
This time around we are rounding of the month of febuary 2021, with some added saucyness to pile onto the romance we enjoyed earlier in the month. Today we are talking about sexwork, eoritca and sexuality, and how all of them can be more than a little liberating for especially women (but also everyone else, no matter gender og sexual orientation). There is a lot more to be understood here, than what is on the surface, this both goes for the women that are helping me today; the lovely Natascha and Yazzmin. But also with the industries they work in, where Natascha earns her wages off of mainly Onlyfans and Yazzmin does a lot of erotic modelling. But as said, there is a lot more to it than nudity and sexual liberation... Anyone listening in this week, will definitely learn something new, and hopefully grow their understanding. Thank you for listening and I will see you in the future!

Love and Leg-game - Valentines Special - Guest Katie Pino
Happy valentines to all my listeners, whether you have a significant other (or several indeed) or you are alone, I hope you have a great time on this socially constructed hallmark holiday :D Regardless, I could not help myself and with the help of the awesome returning guest Katie Pino, I made this awesome valentines day special, where we dive into the nitty gritty, of what modern relationships and love are like, why it is important to remain yourself and find a partner that indulges the way you want to be, and to be in a relationship where there is mutual respect for one anothers identity. As always, thank you for listening and I will see you in the future !

Embodiment and mental health; You are your own shield - Guests Mathias and Ashley
With this episode we are rounding off our mental health month of January. This time we focus on what embodiment means for mental health and the difficulties one might face, when suffering from mental health conditions. Battling both ones own perceptions and the stigma one faces within society, it is to say the least neither easy nor pleasent, and we could do much more in society to understand individuals who are going through this. I won't be doing this alone and I allied myself with 2 very wonderful and brave people, who have been so kind as to share their own experiences in this episode, even if it is a very tough and delicate topic to talk about . So I hope you will show some extra love and appreciation when listening to this episode, and listen extra intently, as their is definitely a lot to learn throughout this episode and we owe it to the bravery of lovely Mathias (returning for his second appearance) and Ashley, to give it our all. Thank you to my guests and anyone listening and I will see you in the future.

Anti-Bullying "Workout your heart" - Guest Peter Mygind
A big hello to all my listeners and a happy new year once again, with this the first episode of 2021. I can think of no better way to start of the year, than with a month focused on mental health, and to start off this month we have this episode where I take a look at bullying and it's effects on identity. I will however not be doing this alone and to accompany me, I have my good friend Peter Mygind, a national treasure in our home country of Denmark, and whom others might know from the movie "Lasat Christmas". He is an anti-bullying advocate and has spoken at 100's of schools, trying to reach the hearts and minds of children, doing his best to stop bullying. Hopefully together, we will touch the hearts of any who listen, and people will come away having laughed and having learned something.

"GG" Stands for Gamer Girl - Guest Katie Pino
In this episode I am diving into what it is like to be a female gamer (and streamer) these days, trying to tackle and make sense of, all the prejudice and anomosity female gamers face. But don't worry it won't be solely focused on the bad stuff, I also get around to what it is to be a female gamer, what draws them into it, why it is awesome to play videogames and much more! There is a lot to go through, and to help me out I have allied myself with the awesome Katie Pino, a gamer girl full of life, energy and drive. Together we get through all the topics above and then some, we even discuss why someone might want to create a character based on their cat, when gaming? There is definitely laughs to be had and stuff to be learned in this one, I hope you will enjoy it!

Japanese Culture "Not Cosplaying" - Guests: Chihiro and Tomonori
In this episode I dive into the fascinating world of japanese culture (in regards to the body of course, as well as other things), looking at how it is much more than Anime, Videogames and Sushi (though I will get into some of this in a future episode, no worries). To help me do this I have allied myself with Tomonori and Chihiro, who will try to guide me through japanese culture and embodiment, with all it's traditions, mysterious and idiosyncrasys. Without giving too much away, we really get into some of the odd preconceptions people have of Japanese culture, and we figure out that perhaps their culture is not as different from ours (western/danish) culture, as we might be led to believe? There is certainly something to learn here and I hope you enjoy this episode.

The Body and The City - Guests: Sam G. and Julian F.
This episode is all about urban living and desing, and how the body fits into it all. You may never have thought of it, but embodied identity, and the culture surrounding it, carries a lot more weight when designing urban space. It all comes down to how we live together within the big cities of the world, and the riddle that needs to be solved, is how we embrace diversity instead of trying to erase it, in order for all of us to live together. To help me answer this riddle, I am talking to 2 of my great friends, architect Sam Gill, and upcoming urban sociologist Julian Flensburg. There is certainly something to be learned this time around, perhaps about something you had not even considered?
