The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—    the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,...    the Spirit of counsel and of might,...    the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—Who is this person that Isaiah is talking about in chapter 11 verse 2? Of course… it’s none other than The Word of God…Jesus Christ Himself. There’s a lot to unpack in this verse…Firstly, these seven Spirits are also referenced a few times in revelation, for example, Revelation We should all meditate on this verse and pray for these seven Spirits of God to rest on us as well. The Next thing is the pairing of these Spirits. Wisdom goes with Understanding.. Counsel goes with Might..Knowledge goes with fear of The Lord…which is the beginning of all true wisdom. To hone in, don’t you think that it's amazing that one of the seven Spirits of The Lord is the Spirit of fear of Him? I find that impactful…because it shows just how important of an attribute it is...how much we need to pray for that Spirit so that when we pray....we truly understand who we are talking to...the creator of not just our bodies...but of everything seen and unseen to ever exist. Remember, this fear of God isn’t the same fear that satan tries to instill in us. Rather, this fear is one that is rooted in love, reverence, respect, awe and admiration of our Lord. Come to Him with a humble and grateful heart, with trembling and respect, and you will find another side of God. Amen and follow for more inspirational sermons!
