today is the most vulnerable episode yet because we are chatting all about my personal journey of religious deconstruction. we talk about my upbringing, the time in my life which led me to seek out something beyond myself, my deep & unexpected dive into evangelicalism as a nineteen year old girl, the five year journey in which that took me on as well as how & why i eventually left it.
along with sharing my journey i also provide some spontaneous commentary on the insanity of church camps, "altar calls", living life continuously with a "battle" mindset, and how a buzzfeed video made me cry out of fear i was no longer a, "true" christian.
the purpose of today's episode is not to sway you any which way; the purpose of today's episode is to give a real and vulnerable look into my life & the things that have made me who i am today, to build genuine connections with each of you as well as to provide some context as to why i do the work i do. as with any of the episodes i create, take what resonates & leave the rest.
