25 // The Empowered Birth Experience with Alexa Abdullah
After birthing four children naturally and learning (a ton) about the broken birthing system in the US, this week's guest, Alexa Abdullah decided to turn her passion into her purpose. She became a birth doula and founded The Empowered Birth Experience from a deep desire to re-frame the perception of labor and childbirth. She specializes in making sure you have the best birth experience so you can focus less on the pain and feel more empowered to bring your baby into the world the healthiest and most natural way possible. 24 // Finding Yourself Through The Fertility Journey with Kelsey Cohrt
We spend most of our lives figuring out the best ways to prevent pregnancy. When we are finally ready to bring life into the world, many of us are quickly humbled and honestly confused to find out it is not as easy as we thought it was.  There are so many factors that go into the fertility journey and of course everyone's is so different. In today's episode you will hear from Kelsey Cohrt — she has gone through the rollercoaster of ups and downs trying to conceive "naturally", via IUI, IVF, surrogacy and more. Her commitment to understand how to best support her body on this journey was the catalyst that sparked her passion and blossomed her into her now career in health coaching. Eating healthy, healing her gut, exercise, meditation, therapy, acupuncture, energy healing and more have been tremendously helpful for her in so many ways — not just in fertility.  Her journey to motherhood doesn't have what she would consider a happy ending just yet but what's beautiful is that her and her husband are still exploring what that could look like.  Kelsey's story is so relatable and it's important, especially as more and more women are coming forward to talk about their frustrations along their fertility journeys.  We sincerely hope you enjoy the episode as much as we did. Kelsey is so kind and genuine — and we were honored to be able to be a part of her sharing her story. Enjoy! 23 // Part 2 — The Shadow Sides of the Chakras with Indigo Elizabeth
Indigo Elizabeth is back — in fact back to back for round 2! We got so into chakras 101 with her on our last episode that we decided we needed another episode dedicated to breaking down the shadow sides of each of the chakras and how we can transmute that energy and get it back into alignment. If you didn’t hear episode 22, definitely go back and listen — and grab a pen or your phone (whatever you take notes on) because she drops knowledge bombs left and right. As a reminder Indigo Elizabeth is all things magical — certified yoga teacher, energy practitioner and holistic wellness coach, as well as crystal enthusiast, tea lover, tarot reader and wild wombyn. One of her gifts is that she speaks with such intention (it's beautiful). We left this epi with quite a bit of homework but excited to get to work on transmuting some of our shadow energy. Enjoy! 22 // Chakras 101 with Indigo Elizabeth
Indigo Elizabeth is all things magical — certified yoga teacher, energy practitioner and holistic wellness coach, as well as crystal enthusiast, tea lover, tarot reader and wild wombyn. One of her gifts is that she speaks with such intention (it's beautiful) — and while her wisdom is far and wide, in today's episode we asked her to breakdown of the 7 chakras and why they are important. We walked up from the Root Chakra (our foundation, security, stability)— all the way to our Crown Chakra (connection to source, consciousness).  She also shared her healing journey and how yoga was a big part of what brought her home to herself.  We hope you enjoy this episode and learn a ton like we did.  XX, Ash + Dan Connect with Indigo on Instagram @indigo_phoenixx and check our her amazing offerings at https://www.soulfulwellnessllc.com/. ::: We would love to hear from you! 21 // Crystal Reiki Healing and Holistic Health Coaching with Viola Murrone
Viola Murrone, affectionately dubbed our Virgo Queen (she will hold you accountable!) from Feel and Heal Me is a wise and worldly woman — born in Italy, but has spent many years living in Brazil, London and New York City.  Her battle with chronic illness and life's hard events brought her back to reiki (her mom took her for the first time when she was 9, how cool btw) — where she learned how to work with her own energy and heal herself. The reiki healing was so profound that she left her career in the high fashion world and now is a practicing intuitive holistic health coach and crystal reiki healer.   In this episode we chat about her healing journey, her no-nonsense approach to health care, self care and more.  We loved this episode because Viola drops so many knowledge bombs and we got to cover some of our favorite topics.  We hope you enjoy! 20 // Honoring Our Sacred Cycles with Em Dewey from Garden of the Moon
Our cycle is something sacred, insightful and powerful yet often so misunderstood. After years of shame and dissociating from it, we finally found both of ourselves trying to understand it for various health and fertility reasons. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when we connected over Instagram with the incredibly knowledgeable and kind, Em Dewey from Garden of the Moon, @gardenofthemoon. Listening to her knowledge of our cycle — how to work with it through cycle tracking and how we can support it in its entirety (not just when we bleed) through herbs, self-care ritual and more — was fascinating, empowering and oh so validating. This episode is a blend of knowledge bombs and personal experience. We hope it inspires you to ask questions, to get curious, to listen to your own intuition and to connect deeper with your own sacred cycle. Be sure to give Em a follow so you can learn more about her sacred cycle oracle deck @sacredcycleoracle and journal, her cycle support kits, lunar ritual teas and more. 19 // Buccal Massage and Holistic Skincare with Dannah Butters
Buccal massages are all the rage. J.Lo, Meghan Markle and many more are singing its praises —— which sent Danica on a mission to find someone who could give her a buccal massage and show her what the hype was all about. That is how she met Dannah Butters, Holistic Esthetician and magical woman — the only person in the PNW that Danica could find. And what a sweet treat — Dannah is charming, whimsical and as talented and she is wise. She breaks down why massaging your cheeks, jawline, and more can help release stress, tension, emotional build up and beyond. She also opens up about her own healing journey, how her pregnancies — especially her free and unassisted birth have literally “birthed” her into the woman she is today, curious about all things holistic and committed to a life that is in complete alignment to her values and truth. We hope you become smitten with Dannah like us and that this episode makes you want to add buccal massage to your self-care and health care musts. 18 // Trusting Your Intuition & Paving Your Own Path with Whitney Popa
This week we sat down with the smart, inspiring and witty, Whitney Popa — an entrepreneur, communications connoisseur, writer, mom, podcaster and cool girls-girl.  Whitney's Instagram made us want to be friends with her but it was her openness to the 'woo' that made us want to get to know her even more. Like us she has tried many different healing modalities to help her better connect to herself and help her better navigate her life, her work and her purpose. As a self described Nordstrom hippie (we love the duality), her personality and her story are so refreshing and relatable.  In this episode she shares many gems but our fave is — how trusting her intuition, accepting herself as she is and not what she 'should be' helped her finally pave her own path to a life in alignment with her true being.  We hope this conversation inspires you like it did us. It reminded us that we just have to live unapologetically our way, because we can't and 'shouldn't' do it any other way.  Enjoy.  Connect with Whitney — and learn about her offerings on Instagram @whitpopa and on her website, www.popaandassociates.com. :: We would love to hear from you! 17 // The Privilege of Wellness & The Importance of Women's Reproductive Rights With Courtney Nelson
This week's episode was inspired by the tough conversations we have had since the news leaked that the Supreme Court is in the process of trying to overturn the Roe vs. Wade decision. To get peripheral insight on the topic, and since we weren't necessarily wanting to get too deep into the politics just yet, we wanted to chat with someone who has worked with women who have had to make the hard decision to seek out an abortion. Specifically someone who has worked with the kind of women who would be directly impacted by the legislation being overturned. We felt that was important because as we know those with privilege, power and money won't be impacted in the same way that underprivileged, marginalized, minority women will be. So we interviewed Courtney Nelson — a Physician Assistant (PA) passionate about health equity, social justice, and patient advocacy. Prior to her work as a PA she spent a few years working at Planned Parenthood where she became intimately aware of the devastating socio-political dynamic that surrounds women’s health, family planning and reproductive rights. As a heads up, we would like to be very clear that while we do hold our own opinions on this topic — and you will hear them on the episode, we are open to hearing where everyone is at on this topic. We like to keep the dialogue open as long as we can do so respectfully and with compassion. We hope you enjoy the episode. We would love to hear your thoughts!
