Even though the books that are in Brea and Mallory’s wheel house are not my wheel house, this podcast is ON POINT for exploring and discussing books and reading life deeply and thoughtfully. I always laugh out loud when I’m listening, and I have learned so much about how to be a more intentional and successful reader— AND helped me learn what being a “successful” reader means to me!! Thank you Brea and Mallory for such a great show that I look forward to every week!

Discovered Reading Glasses last December and barreled through all their content in a few short months… even joined maxfun so I could get their bonus content.. now I listen to past shows whenever I just want something fun to listen to that will help me relax and help keep my excitement for reading ignited…Can’t get enough…

I love love love this podcast. The hosts are just so sweet and fun (but also total potty mouths lol) and I could listen to their banter for hours. Have gotten plenty of good book recs from the show but more importantly have learned how to really love reading again, shed my reader guilt, identify what it is in a book that really draws me in and just generally how to treat reading as a form of self care and an important part of my life.

This podcast makes me feel so much better about reading and my reading life. Brea and Mallory are positive and entertaining. This is the podcast I listen to most regularly.

I didn’t think I needed another podcast, but this is my new favorite! I listen every week as soon as new episodes drop. I keep reading their book recommendations, and it’s helping me branch out more and find new favorites. I feel like I’m getting out of a reading rut, plus I’m getting a clearer idea of what I like and don’t like. Highly recommend, especially if (like me) you feel like you already have too many books on your tbr pile

Reading Glasses changed my life. I hadn’t read more than 5 books a year for 6 years due to a very intense period of burnout, despite having been an avid reader in the past. Brea and Mallory brought the exact right balance of gentleness and enthusiasm to get me back in the saddle. They also introduced me to Libby! Having a steady stream of library holds on my kindle that have been endorsed by Brea, Mallory, and their cool bookish guests changed the game for me. I love so many of the books that they suggest, both new releases and older ones that I’d missed during my book slump. I also love their dedication to highlighting works by queer and trans people, women, and people of color, as that’s what I prefer to read. Reading Glasses also got me to try audiobooks after a few guests said they liked them for nonfiction! Now I’ll actually read some nonfiction instead of just liking the *idea* of reading it. I’ve read 29 books in the last 6 months, and while I’ll take some responsibility for my own growth, I couldn’t have done it without Brea and Mallory.

I held off on listening to this pod for a long time because I was worried it would expand my already bloated TBR list. Well, it did, but it’s totally worth it. Brea and Mallory are great and I’ve learned about a bunch of new authors through them. Plus I’ve gotten better at putting down books I don’t like without feeling like I have to finish them.

Found this show because it was advertised on another Max Fun show and loved it from the first ep! Even though my taste doesn’t overlap with Mallory and Brea too much, I still find so much joy listening to them talk about books and reading every week! Listening reignited my love of books and got me back into books and reading after a years long hiatus.

Having just discovered this awesome podcast a week or so ago, I’ve gone back and listened to at least a dozen older episodes on my drives through rural East Tennessee. This is THE place to hear about great books, bibliomania, reading culture, and all your questions about the same. Hosts are hilarious and irrepressible.

These delightful two are avid readers and discuss “wheelhouses” i.e. the sub genre of subject matter that would definitely entice you to pick up that book and dive into it immediately. It helped me realize topics that I find irresistible. They start each show by talking about their current reads. I have expanded my reading horizons with their help!

Reading Glasses makes Thursday my favorite podcast day. I love the book recs, advice, discussions of reader philosophy, and overall structure of the show. It’s an inclusive guide to solving all your reader problems with a healthy dose of book recommendations and author interviews. The whole community is great and it all starts with Mallory and Brea, two great podcasters making it all happen.

I stumbled upon Reading Glasses via the Maximum Fun network of podcasts and am so thrilled by that moment of serendipity. I purchased the personalized sticker for RG during the MaxFun Drive because it spoke to me and then started listening and subsequently supporting the podcast. Brea and Mallory are bright lights oozing with insight and hilarity. I adore listening while they discuss all things books and reading. As an almost-40-year-old school librarian and self-professed bibliophile, their conversations and pop culture references speak directly to my soul. To spend time with them is like a fireside chat with a close friend. If you like reading, hate reading, or are somewhat ambivalent about reading, go listen to this podcast. You won’t regret it!

Brea and Mallory host an incredibly informative and interesting show on all things books. Not only do they provide such clear, insightful and informative reviews, they also delve into the struggles of every day readers by answering listener questions. I love how they seek to include all types of readers, and even though they have clearly defined book interests, their recommendations cross all genres and sub genres of books, and I never feel like I have to like what they like and I am free to enjoy all of my own interests. They also host such informative interviews (I connected especially deeply with Seanan McGuire). Thank you for caring about each of us and for infusing your love and passion for books and stories so effortlessly into each episode.

This is everything I never knew I wanted from a podcast about reading!! Brea and Mallory are so funny, thoughtful, and insightful, they give amazing book recs, and they’ve fostered a wonderful guilt-free reading community. I love hearing them interview authors and review book tech, and they’ve given me some really cool new ways to think about how I read. Started listening about three years ago. Can’t tell you how much I love how light and irreverent the podcast is! At the same time, it has introduced me to many new genres, authors and books.
