The amount of self realization that can come from someone else’s vulnerability, can cause a mental/ emotional awakening. Personally I felt I was good but I left myself open to being used emotionally for her physical gain. (She wanted me to keep her dog) and I knew I’d have done anything for her but just because ik I would, doesn’t mean I should let her in to use me.
