RTC Episode 5: The Best Of Roxy Music
Notes: -Comps tend to suffer from recency bias -Ferry’s eye patch worn for the Love is the Drug video was mistaken as a fashion statement; the eye patch was for an eye injury! -In Every Dream Comp, a Glaring Omission -Opening instrumentals are India off Avalon & Slave to Love off Ferry’s 1985 solo album Boys and Girls Rated: L – 8 A- 8 J – 7.5 Average: 7.7/10 Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for more… Rate the Comp!

RTC Episode 3: Time Life's Ultimate Love Songs
Notes: Ultimate Love Songs = Love Communism. Richard Marx’ Right Here Waiting = Bryan Adams’ (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. Come up and See Me (Make me Smile) is not by John Ford Coley & England Dan; it is by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. Richard Marx : Bryan Adams :: John Ford Coley & England Dan : Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. Instrumentals at beginning and end are Vanilla Ice: I Love You and Ice, Ice Baby. The Kids Incorporated clip of Say You, Say Me as sung to It: https://youtu.be/Gb5DkLd22Ic Next, it’s a very special episode of Rate the Comp, featuring THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME! RTC Episode 2: The Beatles Red & Blue
The second edition of Rate the Comp explores The Beatles’ 1973 compilations Red (1962-66) and Blue (1967-70.) Notes: Ringo had a serious thing for the ocean.  It’s  okay to have a single over three minutes long nowadays: “Like a Rolling  Stone” paved the way for “Hey Jude” which paved the way for “American  Pie” which paved the way for “Albuquerque.” Magical Mystery Tour ≠ Purple Rain. The next episode will either be the Stones’ Hot Rocks/More, Roxy Music’s Street Life, Pure Moods, Goin’ South, or a rapid-fire look rife with hot takes at various badly curated grayscale-art-laden 20th Century Masters. Keep hitting refresh!!! https://leonferri.photo.blog/2020/06/10/rate-the-comp-beatles-red-blue/

RTC Episode 1: Bowie The Singles Collection
The first edition of “Rate the Comp” was a success. Leon, Andrew & Joe tore apart a 1993 Bowie comp and used it as a lens against all other comps. Notes: Opening tracks are “South Horizon” off The Buddha of Suburbia and “Speed of Life” off Low. We only talked about “Win” off Young Americans for a second, but it’s so good. We talked about Queen Bitch after we finished recording, but it is also so good! New York : New Jersey : Ellis Island :: Queen : Bowie : “Under Pressure.” Here’s the Concert for NYC link https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4sweid. Here’s the 50th Bday concert link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXHzek1CJ3E. We will do Beatles “Red” & “Blue” next time. Stay tuned, and  leave a comment if you have a suggestion for a future episode, a comp  you’ve always wondered about! https://leonferri.photo.blog/2020/05/30/rate-the-comp-david-bowie/
