This is my first sitdown conference where I have the time to explain the Manifest beauty movement that started way back in 2008 when my world came crashing down. The seminar is for aspiring authors, and the point of me having this fireside chat is to show how a book can be turned into many things, a movement, your purpose, and legacy. I’ll admit when I first started Manifest beauty I’d had no idea what it would be, but I knew that it had something to do with Music and inspiration. I’ve held three Manifest your beauty fest, and have barely spoken at any of them. I kept wanting to shine the light on others. I can feel another chapter beginning in the book of manifest beauty, and I’m excited to see where it will lead. This is a perfect example of why this podcast is called Random Ish with Sonja! I'm taking care of two things at once with this one. The girlies asked me to do a makeup tutorial, which I did, but still need to edit. Marcie just so happened to ask if I could do her beat for her photoshoot for her wedding venue business the other day, and since we have an episode coming up where we chop up how she became a venue owner, I figured this is perfect! I'm inspired by Adam Sandler and Tyler Perry, what they have in common, they have the same folks in their projects no matter how big they get. That's what I'm doin over here, one event, one project, one dream at a time. I'm doing a natural look for her shoot, while chatting up some things we go through as entrepreneurs: pricing, leveling up, retargeting previous customers, and what we really mean by partying it up on a Friday night. Unless of course its an event! How has email marketing worked for you? Plus, we touch on the need to stop downplaying ourselves. I do it all the time. I read once that maybe we do that because we are always raising the bar, setting a new goal, so it's natural to not realize how far we have come. BUT! We must learn to celebrate our wins, and regardless of the size of the win, they are all important. Let me tell you a story. Gurl make it make sense! I have a question, do you vote according your tradition or according to the candidate? Early voting has started not telling you which way to go, but... I know folks on both side of the vote. Also, something that I feel like the medical industry is about to catch up on for those who suffer from IBS issues perhaps this is the real culprit … Just saying!!! The upmost respect for the medical industry, but as I wrote in my first book, it’s called practicing medicine, not knowing medicine. We’re all always learning . Look at me creating another episode in a timely fashion! Radio Vs Video Podcast …you can see my face! Annnd the expressions. There some exes that can’t stand these faces . Today chopping up a statement or question I should say that a woman made to me while out last week. I thought we were in a new era. No more women shaming women. Especially about dating! This got me thinking about the clip I saw of Drew Barrymore and Sharon Stone talking about not dating because it's just disappointing. It can be but, I share some stories and ah-ha moments I learned along the way. From a mess up situation that I never thought I’d actually get out of, to pursuing and figuring out a ways to monetize my passions, I share part of my journey. I’ve gone from men are only good for one thing, to being hopeful as I see lot of guy friends are learning. So, even though I do feel what most women feel I still hold out hope for guys. I have been more of the I choose me type, but it's for a reason! I am still a romantic and believe in love. I do think that we need a different approach, and this toxic masculinity is changing a bit, I give some examples, but I also share an example of the complete opposite from a toxic male point of view. I am not a man basher, even though I have never had a man in my life I could trust, I do know some good men. I know I just lost some of you, lol but if we can manifest our career, our hair, heck our lives, then we gotta believe that we can manifest the man. First we become the person who is in that relationship, to attract said relationship. That got me thinking about forks in the road and living like a whole person. So let’s try this new approach together..A Quick The Nerd In Me: You gotta see this AI video. Crazy!!!! Should AI and robots just be for jobs humans don't want to do??? or now do we have to worry about competing with AI for creative jobs? There were a couple other topics I wanted to get into, but the relationship conversation took on a life of its own.
