Songwriters & Stuff Episode 20 Gregory Dean Fortune
Gregory Dean FortuneI've been performing and writing music since I was about 14 years old. My father was a musician. This fact, combined with the richness and diversity of the music in the neighborhood where I grew up (South Vallejo) sucked me in at an early age and I've been addicted ever since. I've played in several bands over the years but had to put chasing rock stardom on hold while being a single father raising my two daughters. They are grown now so the time was right for me to create my first solo album titled "Rock n' roll makes the pretty girls love ugly boys". I wrote, performed and mixed the album myself in my home studio. Everything you hear on the album is me with the exception of the drums. One cool tidbit is that the album was mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London.

Songwriters & Stuff Episode 16 Catherine Wacha
Catherine Wacha is a singer-songwriter and music composer who lives in Pittsburgh, PA. But, to just label her as just a musician would be selling her short. She is a performer, an organizer, and an activist. In the late nineties, she played guitar and sang for the experimental punk rock group, Pseudo Dolls. Upon the demise of that band, she switched gears in 2002 and bought an acoustic guitar, and started writing songs as a solo artist. In 2015 Catherine started playing some percussion and could be found up and down the Jersey shore playing percussion for several different local acts and ultimately found herself as a permanent member of the band Frank & Bill playing gigs steadily both with the band as a solo artist.Catherine plays in a style all her own pulling from her many influences  ranging from classical, pop, rock, and everything in between. She’s a performer that puts every single part of her being into each song. Whether she’s playing for two or two hundred people every word and strum is delivered with a raw intensity. The themes that she covers in her writing run the gamut from love, melancholy, triumph, rejection, and a keen sense of what is and what will be.As an organizer and an activist, she has put together shows to help in the fight against Lupus. Her team, “Rock the Lup” has raised thousands for the Alliance for Lupus Research. Over the years, Catherine has been recognized by the ALR for both fundraising and helping to raise awareness about Lupus. Along the way she has put on countless benefit shows, as well as “Rock the Lup” compilations made up of independent artists from around the world. Her intensity on the stage is matched only by her intensity for the furthering of these causes. In addition to her charity work, she also organized Vox: An Evening of Female Voices from 2006-2007 respectively.
