I’ve been listening since the OG days of Cerebronas, to the point that I can’t even remember how I discovered the podcast. I continue to listen, because of the important topics Yvette covers that I’m also so passionate about and as a fellow Salvi- I love that she prioritizes Central American voices and stories. I always learn something new and also new books to add to my TBR. Anyway, I can go on and on about this podcast and Yvette’s work so I’ll just end by saying listen to this podcast!!

Yvette's conversations are thorough, to the point, and always thought provoking. I am grateful this podcast exists! If you're interested in Arizona issues (namely, the border) that affect the whole country, this podcast will give you a lot of valuable context and information.

It is clear Yvette is a great attorney for her clients when they are in difficult circumstances from listening to this podcast— she can present complex and angering information while somehow sharing a calming and empowering vibe with her listener. I love this podcast!

I have been a supporter since Cerebronas, but I haven’t gotten around to giving Yvette’s new show a much-deserved 5-star rating until now, prompted by the moving, thought-provoking discussion she had with her guests about public interest work, diversity, and unionization in the episode “What Is Your Politic?”. I’m about to be a 1L at SLS myself and plan on returning to this episode in the future, especially if I find myself working further in the non-profit legal world; it brought together and expanded on a lot I’ve been hearing about this field, and I’m very grateful y’all recorded such a raw and honest conversation on this topic. Thank you for the work you’re doing in AZ and in continuing to broadcast for us!

One of my favorite podcasts. I used to listen to her first podcast, Cerebronas. Honestly, her podcasts have really helped me in figuring out that I wanted to make a career change to the legal profession, from other work helping immigrants. Inspiring, insightful, critical analysis. Great look into the immigration law landscape. The fact that she makes it accessible is huge, as well. I'm a Yale grad, like the creator. After graduating, I missed the Latinx social justice spaces that I was a part of in college. This podcast recreates that sense of community.

I love this podcast! Southern AZ, as militarized and policed as it is, is full of small quiet feminist and anti capitalist community projects that work to undermine the dehumanization and militarization of this land. Radiocachimbona is creating a living archive of this work and the voices of those on the frontlines. This archive is incredibly important — for us here on the border to learn and continue evolving our work thru thoughtful analysis, and for those not here to understand the complicated political landscape here that is so often the place where repressive military tactics and the attack on migrant communities first gets rolled out. I commend Yvette for furthering the conversations and creating space for organizers and advocates to reflect on their work and share their perspectives on a constantly evolving humanitarian crisis happening in these occupied borderlands.

Stumbled into this podcast after following an IG rabbit-hole and have not been disappointed. I feel seen, validated, and presented with new perspectives - can’t stress how many times I’ve been like wait let me write this down! Thanks for showcasing social work in this too - as an MSW it was amazing to hear how PoCs can start disrupting this field.

Listening to this podcast made me think "wow, these are the conversations I wish I had been having in law school." I've enjoyed every episode for the important knowledge and discussions about systems of inequality and the ways the law supports them. But that sentence is not enough to describe the amazing advocacy that goes on in the podcast, and the critical work of centering the voices of Central Americans and women. This is definitely my favorite podcast.

This is a good starting point for folks, but I was so disappointed when I started hearing sympathy for white people and hearing that the host believed in reverse racism. I think the host needs some more educating.

I’m so fortunate to have stumbled upon this resource. Ya’ll are definitely a breathe of fresh air and provide not only insight into current events but a space for much needed reflection. Las aprecio!

This podcast is awesome. It touches on topics that a lot of Latinas encounter, and discusses law through a critical race lens. As a Latina lawyer, even in New York City, our perspectives and work are often undervalued and not visible. Through these episodes I feel a sense that there is a larger community of Latina lawyers doing public interest work with on point political analysis. Thank you Yvette and Cynthia!

As a current 1L student, I am so thankful that I found this before I started law school because it has helped me through many hard moments. Just within the first two weeks of law school, I have doubted whether I truly belong and my intelligence on more occasions than ever before in my life. I’m a 2L in northern Illinois. The toughest part about law school has been being exposed to the disappointing discriminatory legislative and case law history of the U.S. I find such support and inspiration in this Cerebronas podcast. Cerebronas presents a cogent and intelligent take on how law affects POC as well as what it’s like navigating predominantly white institutions as latinx students. It is so refreshing to hear this perspective!

For me personally, the hosts on this podcast do a good job of explaining pretty dense legal stuff and getting to the morals behind how things could work if they were better. The episodes are generally pretty bite-sized and casually conversational so it’s easy listening. Tbh, I’m a relatively uninformed white guy who is trying to figure out what’s going on with political and social issues that have been outside of my blinders. So for other white guys maybe this could smarten you up a bit too. I feel like I’ve gained a bit more understanding.

I found Cerebronas last fall. Their conversations spark new thoughts and open my mind to seeing people in a new light. I have listened to the Harm Reduction episode multiple times and have shared with my CDP cohort. Thank you for the work you do and for sharing it.

I am glad I heard about this podcast a few months ago. As a Latina interested in pursuing a legal career, listening to this podcast has been enjoyable and enriching. I was super excited for this podcast. I started from the beginning and it wasn’t great but it was the beginning so I stayed tuned for 2 more episodes. It just sounds like they’re trying to speak about things they know little to nothing about. Too many umms and yeaaa... takes away from what could have beeen a great quality podcast

I’m a 2L from Chicago and in love with the episodes with law professors! Thank you both for providing a platform where I get to hear about the law from POC 😍

Usually when I hear other people complain about the narcissistic, politically correct, emotionally fragile, and intellectually impoverished culture among millennial college students in liberal havens like Berkeley, I assume it is overblown conservative rhetoric. But listening to this show for 30 minutes is enough to make me second guess that assessment. These two are complete ideologues, and would be right at home as cultural revolutionaries in Mao's China of the mid-60s.

Such important topics being addressed by two really smart Latinas! Gosh I really wish I loved this podcast more. But the monotone and low voices makes it really hard to follow. I wish it was more interesting for those who don’t have a law background.
