The Radio Bible Hour is one of the oldest Baptist radio ministries in the United States. Started in 1935 by J. Harold Smith, it celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2015. It produces radio programs based on the recorded sermons of Dr. J. Harold Smith and was heard on about 50 radio outlets in the U.S. During his lifetime, J. Harold Smith served as a pastor and evangelist. His ministry was Bible-based and traditionally conservative Southern Baptist. Dr. J. Harold Smith was known for his powerful preaching and compassionate pastoral care.
