The Radical Candor and Radical Respect podcasts provided incredible guidance as I navigated difficult workplace situations. I have felt seen and cared for through the various stories and scenarios, but most importantly, I have not felt as alone and isolated in what I experienced. Thank you to the entire Radical team for the dedication to this podcast! Grateful for you!

Love the format for setting up the topic followed by discussion from different perspectives, and how to approach the solution. My favorite part is the summary presented in the form of tips.

This podcast and this book have changed the way I show up as a leader. I’m so grateful Kim so thoughtfully put this book together and then continues to share tips and tricks through this podcast. Before I get to work, I listen to Kim, Amy, and Jason to decide what I’ll intentionally work on today/this week with my team. The discussion during the podcast really helps reframe and understand the approach. The tips at the end are just a perfect bit size summary for all that we heard. And I truly appreciate the web posts with all the additional material for when a subject is particularly interesting!

What a wonderful episode—May 31,2023. The new manager with the difficult very senior employee who doesn’t want to change—I have quite a few of those in my org! We are about to implement a total overhaul of the organization to try to get away from the past 10 years of charter overlaps. The framework you describe is exactly what I will need to use! There is some really good stuff here but the rambling nature of the discussion often results in the presenters losing sight of the topic and missing the point. Also, these people are very senior managers and have no perspective on how it works for people who have low or no power in an organization. Season 3, Episode 10, for example has some potentially disastrous advice for people trying to provide feedback to their boss.

The early episodes are delightful to Listen to, and quite thought provoking. Follow their advice and make your business better.

I really loved the first few episodes but it’s basically a rehash of all the stories in the book with very little additional content/stories. Gets old after a few episodes.

So I LOVED the original season when they were covering the book. The flow with the hosts isn’t there for me but occasionally I pick up a little nugget. If you’re new to the podcast, start from the beginning.

This show does such a great job of bringing an empowering tone to frankness!

And stay out of politics....listen to you for guidance not political opinions....love the Radical Candor books and have recommended to anyone that will listen to me.

I’ve always been a person who generally is frustrated with my boss and have always strived to avoid those pitfalls when I too became a manager. These episodes are so specific in the thing so that I can do to create a better environment for my employees. The first episode was assigned to me for my development upon building to a promotion and I decided to listen to the whole series to better my leadership and relationships at work. My boss has also listened to a few episodes and we are reading the book together. I really enjoy the concrete tips at the end of each episode and the stories the hosts tell that show that they’ve also made these mistakes and are sharing from experience on how to avoid them in the future. They are real and relatable and do not skirt around tough topics. Very grateful that this resource exists for manager everywhere!

A little more structure and better audio would go a long way

I thought the first few episodes with Russ and Kim were so good and entertaining! The new group isn’t as engaging.

Giving a dogmatic radical a groveling interview is not a good example of radical candor - it’s ruinous empathy.

Love the idea of this podcast, great topics. The problem is that for the couple times I tried to listen, the content doesn’t start until 10+min into it. Lot of self promotion in the beginning...understandable, I just lose my attention.

Absolutely love radical candor. My company has even adapted it as a culture. It is disappointing that the iOS app in not available in the US apple app store.

Kim and Russ have great advice for the workplace no matter the industry. Anyone can learn something from listening!

Kim’s storytelling in Radical Candor is great; her career spans failed start ups to Google to Apple. Along the way she describes how a leader must first show that they care personally before they can challenge directly. I hope this podcast continues to inspire leaders to be more radically candor.

Your book was recommended to me by a leader of a client group as a way to help me find an effective technique to contain (and preferably, stop) a behavior that my then-leader continually did - being too nice with meaningless feedback given to people who really needed candor regarding their performance! Your podcast is full of good insights; my only regret is that this had not come along sooner!

As sad as I’m sure you are, I’m happy you’ve put the app on hold instead of the podcast. It was so incredibly useful and I learned so much. I’m not a manager, but I find myself leading meetings and being a go-to person in my company. I’m hoping your podcast can get me over this wall that is keeping me out of an actual leadership title (and pay). Sometimes it’s me, but it’s nice to hear stories about situations I’ve dealt with and to hear you say “that’s not what good bosses do”. This whole time I thought I just had an attitude problem, but if I was going to be one of them, I would have to act like them. Now, after this podcast, I know l’m not perfect, but I’m not necessarily wrong, and that’s huge!
