Radio Legend Joyce Littel On Her History, Working With Usher and What's Next #WomensHistoryMonth
Did you know that DJ Sir Daniel has a history in radio? Well, he absolutely does, as he spent many years working with Joyce Littel. With over 39 years in radio, Littel is showing no signs of slowing down, even lending her voice to a segment in Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Sir Daniel gives Joyce her flowers, as they discuss her history. Joyce drops some gems about what’s been most important during her career and what’s next for her. Watch this interview: https://qpnt.net/littelinterview Follow Joyce Littel: Facebook: https://facebook.com/joycelittel Instagram: https://instagram.com/iamjoycelittel Listen to The Grown Folks Table podcast: https://qpnt.net/tgftpod Joyce Littel Bio: Celebrity… Author… Entrepreneur… Visionary! These are just a few words that merely come close to the defined greatness of Joyce Littel. Deemed a “Quiet Storm” of broadcasting perfection in the medium and muse of radio, Joyce Littel has undoubtedly set a standard of excellence throughout her career – a reign of over 39 years, to be exact. Her smooth, sexy voice is synonymous with romance and slow jams, which is why for over 25 of those years, she’s hosted the top-ranked, night time show in Atlanta, the Quiet Storm and for 15 of those years hosted Love & Relationships, both heard on CBS Radio Atlanta’s, V-103 (WVEE-FM).  Her heart and “matter of fact” delivery engages and impacts thousands of listeners and has created an unbreakable bond with the metro Atlanta community, the Southeast region and abroad – a bond that has, and will forever, stand the test of time. Today, Joyce Littel continues to be keen on maximizing opportunities. She was appointed Brand Manager of News & Talk 1380 WAOK in 2019. She also remains the host of the Quiet Storm on Audacy Atlanta’s V103 (WVEE-FM) and she’s the creator, producer and co-host of a popular podcast The Grown Folks Table.  She is a “big-picture” thinker who routinely lives and thinks outside of the box.  She employs a relentless determination in developing an impeccable reputation with her creative imprints, but despite the size of her vision, Joyce always finds the time to contribute to her community. She has held memberships with the Coalition of 100 Black Women of Metro Atlanta, the Black Women’s Investment Club, the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment (NABFEME), and currently a member of her beloved sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her service has also extended to the successful organization of benefit concerts for her Alma Mater, Morris Brown College; the National Council of Negro Women of DeKalb County; and I AM, Inc., a non-profit tutorial and mentoring program for the children of DeKalb County and The Leadership Church.  As a respected voice in both entertainment and the community, Joyce is consistently recognized with awards and accolades. Rolling Out Magazine recognized her talent as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Atlanta, A Phoenix Award from Atlanta Mayor, Bill Campbell and she has been is listed regularly as one of the Who’s Who in Black Atlanta. She has received numerous awards and honors, but there are a few that are dearest to her such as the Outstanding Alumni and Community Service Award from the Women of Morris Brown College; the For Sisters Only Community Achievement Award from CBS/Infinity Broadcasting; being inducted into The National Black Radio Hall of Fame and Inducted in The Black Women Radio Historic Collection as one of the Inaugural 30!  Having already had a full career with a lifetime of unforgettable personal and professional experiences, she will be the first to say, “My life is just beginning!” At the helm of a company, brand manager and a dream, her vision is sure, her success is inevitable, and her destiny is promised. She is a TRAILBLAZER, she is an ICON, she is… JOYCE LITTEL! Enjoy Queue Points? It’s #WomensHistoryMonth, and we’re kicking off the month with a discussion about producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer Patrice Rushen. With hits including "Haven't You Heard?" and Forget Me Nots, the era marked Rushen’s shift to a more R&B/Pop style, and would give us some of her most recognizable songs.
