National Student Pride presents its latest podcast series 'The Outtakes', join us as we go behind the scenes with a series of inspiring queer people who are making a real difference, working both within and outside the community to better the lives of LGBTQ+ people. We sit down with a myriad of influential and dynamic guests from the LGBTQ+ community ranging from icons, activists and student voices, creating an inclusive platform for our guests to share their stories, and provide an insightful and authentic perspective into the lives of Queer people. 
Religion, Tradition, and Me - with Foyez
 *TW*Tradition, religion, and culture all play a part in our lives and sometimes it's not for the good. Foyez, a young gay man and recent graduate, shares his story about surviving two exorcisms and leaving his family to start living his authentic and non-apologetic life. He talks about how he is now finding balance in his sexuality, identity and religion after living a double life and eventually being forced to come out to his Muslim family. *Please note that this episode comes with a Trigger Warning. Mentions of physical and mental abuse. Listeners discretion is advised* We are National Student Pride, a not for profit organisation run by students for LGBTQ+ young people. Since 2005 we have organised a joyous and diverse annual festival, a celebration and coming together of our community, but also a safe space for queer youth to explore activism, career avenues and the opportunity to connect with peers from across the UK. We're back in person in London for 2022, with our weekend long festival taking place from 8-10 April at the University of Westminster and G-A-Y venues. Mo talks about his experience with exploring and finding his identity while living in the Middle East and how a trip to the UK opened his eyes to a better life.  After escaping his family and talking with authorities Mo went into foster care. He now lives in the UK, studying at University and continues to grow and thrive.
