I reflect on my journey from discovering the genocide against the Ezidi ethnic minority, to actively participating in the Kurdish liberation movement. I externalize the atrocities committed by ISIL, my personal motivations for joining the Kurdish forces in Northern Syria & Northern Iraq, and the assimilation I experienced being adopted by the Kurdish people.I speak on the ongoing struggles faced by the Kurdish community, the importance of women's leadership in combat roles and as commanders in the resistance, and the unique democratic model established in Rojava.
