In this series, we are joined by health care leaders to discuss leadership in health care. Today we are joined by Dr. Joyce Batchellor. Dr. Batchellor’s career spans over 40 years, transforming nursing organizations, mentoring healthcare and nursing leadership, and improving patient outcomes. She served as the chief nurse officer for 19 years in a large and prominent health care system in Texas. Her passion, focus, experience, and commitment is to developing the next generation of nursing leaders. Dr. Batchellor has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on the leadership. Currently, she serves on the Strategic Advisory Committee for the Texas Team Future of Nursing Initiative, and as the chairperson of the Healthcare System Excellence Expert Panel of the American Academy of Nursing.
