These boys know how to make meaning out of stories. I’m not Christian, and yet I’m always fascinated to hear the perspectives of these liberal theologians on my favorite show. It’s a joy to listen in on their wonkiness. The podcast deepens my appreciation for Buffy, but what’s more, it inspires me to connect what I love in the show with personal challenges in my life and to draw courage from that connection.

This isn’t for me. While I liked their *somewhat* enthusiasm for Buffy, they make it about the Bible any chance they get. I’m obsessed with Buffy and all things Buffy, but this falls very.....flat and tiresome.

Sam and Jordan are so thoughtful and insightful both about Buffy, but also about modern culture as a whole. Their theological forays are fascinating, and they always tie back into the modern world with their discussion. I find their speaking patterns soothing, and the games fun. Only wish their were new episodes more often!

This podcast explores BtVS through the lenses of art and theology. It fills a gap in the Buffy rewatch podcasting world because it approaches the show assuming that Buffy has something to say about spirituality and that the spiritual references in the show not only matter in universe but also in the world at large. They also play fun games that I enjoyed a LOT as a long-time Buffy fan.

Conversation is very stiff. I turned off this podcast and went to watch paint dry instead. I love all things Buffy, but this podcast just doesn’t make the cut.

I have been a fan of Buffy for a very long time. I found Sam and Jordan through Lani Diane Rich of Chipperish and found what I was looking for. I understand that Josh Whedon didn’t deliberately make a spiritual work of art, but I also know that if you are looking for the Lord, you can find him anywhere. These young men are men of God and I love them.

There is no other podcast tackling Buffy from this angle. Always learn something new. For people of any faith, or no faith. Smart.

As someone who is always looking for more Buffy in my life, I am so pleased to have come across Prophecy Guys! Jordan and Sam take you on a thought provoking journey, encouraging you to take a deeper look at the show we all know and love once more with feeling.

I'm a relative newcomer to the Buffy-verse, but I must say the Prophecy Guys bring some unique perspective to this much-studied modern classic. Not only do these thoughtful, innovative young men pour over each episode with impressive attention to detail, but they tie the themes and concepts into larger discussions about life, self-expression, and the artistry of telling a coming-of-age story in a monster-ridden universe. They are simply a delight to listen to, and I'm excited to see what comes next!

As a long time lover of the Buffy universe, I appreciate listening to these two intellectuals discuss the underlying themes of one of the greatest shows on television. I love getting a new perspective that is applicable to a complex view of spirituality. I am very excited to follow and listen to future episodes while I re-watch one of my favorite shows!
