With soaring unemployment rates from the coronavirus shutdown, I wanted to make a video that showed people how to find a job (this works even after covid). Keep in mind, this will take effort, but it does work. With this LinkedIn strategy, you'll be able to find companies that are hiring, and reach out to the appropriate person of the organization and set up an interview.
Here are the steps...
Number 1: Resume's Are The Old Way of Getting Jobs A resume will not get you too far in the job obtaining process. You have to understand that if you submit a resume, there are dozens if not hundreds of other applicants. A resume will not separate you from the crowd, you are only a line on a spreadsheet.
Number 2: Create And/Or Beef Up Your Linkedin If you don't have a LinkedIn yet, create one. If you do have one, make sure it's up to date. Add your prior work, a professional picture, etc. If you want, use your LinkedIn account as your resume. It has the potential to be seen by more people than a paper resume does.
Number 3: Search For Jobs You can do this by geographical area and job title. If you don't care what job you have, then do a generic search for the area you want a job in. If you have a specific skill and are looking for a specific position, then search for that.
Number 4: Find a Company That You Would Want To Work For Don't be too strict on this one, especially if you are unemployed right now. A lot of the time you won't know if you want to work an organization until you interview and maybe even work for them for a short period of time.
Number 5: Find the Person In Charge Of Hiring This is probably the most crucial step. Most of the time people just "apply for the job online" and let it be. You have to go out of your way to get people to recognize you. Make sure the hiring manager knows who you are and that you are interested in the position.
Number 6: Reach Out and Set Interview Once you know who would be responsible for hiring you, reach out to that person on LinkedIn and set the interview. If you can't find who it is, send messages to other employees and ask for a name and contact information. Once the interview is set, it's up to you to sell yourself and get the position.

First things first, living frugally does not mean cheap. There are certain items where you should (and feel good about) spend money on. However, our day to day financials can get out of hand and living frugally is always a good decision.
Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor or professional. I am a business owner with interest in finance. Most of what it shared I have learned from financial professionals.
Number 1: Understand the Power of Money Whether you are in business for yourself or not, you have to understand how powerful money is. If you build a successful marketing system, every dollar can be multiplied. Even if you invest in a retirement account, real estate or another vehicle, that money you invest can lead to a much larger return. My point, the money you spend on unnecessary items can drastically reduce long term wealth.
Number 2: Know Where Your Money is Going It's impossible to get control of your money (or anything) if you don't know where it's going. I used an app called Prism to help track bills and expenses (there are a lot of good ones though). It's important to have all of your money in one spot. I have 5 bank accounts (personal checking, multiple business checking and multiple savings accounts) so it's nice to be able to see stats on all the accounts in one place. Make sure that you know what all your monthly expenses are.
Number 3: Budget Have in place a set amount of money you are willing to spend on everything. This includes what you spend each month in bills (rent, insurance etc as well as luxuries like eating out, clothes, entertainment etc). Don't feel bad about spending money if you can afford to, but have the discipline to stay within your budget.
Number 4: Eliminate Unnecessary Recurring Payments We all have monthly fee's that we are still paying, but we haven't used in months. Maybe it's the gym membership you aren't utilizing or a Netflix subscription you haven't used in a while. Either way, go through your monthly expenses that you now know of and get rid of what are no longer using.
Number 5: Price Shop There is so much competition in every industry. There's bound to be other companies that provide exactly what you want. Do some research on competitors of where you are currently shopping. If another business provides exactly what you are looking for, for a better price, go with them.
Number 6: Negotiate This can be uncomfortable for people who are not familiar with negotiating. Just know that businesses will charge you what they can because you are willing to pay for it. A lot of companies will alter their pricing to make sure you stay as a customer. Take Adobe for example, they are willing to give me months for free because they want me to stay as a customer. Go through your monthly bills and negotiate them to see if those companies will offer you a better option.
