Bit of a different episode this time, with no guest and no psychology-based content...just me talking. A friend asked me (and yes I genuinely had someone ask me, I'm not just saying that) how I stayed organised and balanced all the different areas of my life. So I sat down, wrote out everything, and then turned it into a podcast!
I talk about priorities, work, social life, staying organised and morning/night routines. I threw out heaps of tips and what I do so if you need any help in any of those areas, this is a good one to listen to!
If you want any clarification, have any questions or want to suggest an idea, let me know by sending me a message on Instagram (@progressnotperfection_pod) or leave me a review on apple podcasts with your ideas!

You guessed it, another friend of mine joins me today to talk about education, intuition and social media. Holly and I went to school together from prep (I think we were like 4 or 5) and have been friends all this time.
Holly went through about 7 months of lockdown last year when she moved to Victoria, however, she managed to turn what could've been an easy excuse to give up, into a way to really focus on what she was passionate about. Obviously, lockdown was a very difficult time for a lot of people and we do touch on that and how Holly dealt with those feelings, so although we'll talk about how it helped her focus, I don't want anyone to compare themselves to this situation because as Holly mentions, during that time everyone was just doing what they could to get through day by day. If any of these topics are triggering for you, I would suggest either not listening or skipping through them. We don't go into too much depth, rather just mention it but it's still important to warn you before we get into it. Holly has developed a following across social media platforms of over 10,000 now and finally found her feet in the area she feels most passionate about.
Holly is someone who is not only my friend but someone I am inspired by and look up to for motivation and direction. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I do!

So in this episode, I talk about motivation and the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. I kind of give you a 'what's currently going on in my life' run down and how I'm STRUGGLING with staying motivated, so what better way to get back into things than to publicly put it out there and tell people this so I'm held accountable.
If you're interested in these two types of motivation, why each might motivate you, and a couple of tips on how you can improve yours, then give this a listen and see what you think!
As always, let me know your thoughts, if this helped you or you found it interesting. I'm trying to be more interactive on Instagram @progressnotperfection_pod to give the listeners even more information about the topics I discuss so if you're still craving more, come give me a follow there!

In today's episode, I'm talking to Nathan Moss, also known as Uncle Nathan on Instagram. Nathan at 19 has started a blog where his aim is to educate 17-22 years old on all things money, travel, study and just general advice on how to grow up. Most recently, Nathan has launched his own podcast where he speaks to other young people about their experience post-school and shows his audience that there no one-size-fits-all in life. Nathan reached out to me and asked me to be on his podcast and I couldn’t give up the opportunity to have him as a guest on mine either as I definitely feel like our goals and interests align with each other closely; his passion and genuine excitement for educating others is some of the things I'm talking about. Nathan was such a great guy to talk with and I cant believe he's only 19, the way he presents himself and has taken the initiative to create such a great space for young people is inspiring. I hope you get as much out of this episode as I did.
Thank you so much for listening, I truly started this podcast with the idea that no one would listen and its overwhelming how much encouragement and support I have received. You may have heard this term used before, especially surrounding money and finance, but today, I explain what a sunk cost is in terms of psychology. What is a sunk cost? Some examples to further explain how it happens in everyday life, why we ignore the sunk cost and how can we fix it? I answer all of these questions in todays episode. If this is something you're interested in then have a listen and see if there's something new you can learn.

In today's episode I got to speak to a really good friend of mine Bre. Bre (@coachedbybre) is a personal trainer, focussing on women’s health and strength goals which is actually how we met. We have known each other for about a year now, and over that time we’ve developed a really lovely friendship where she’s taught me a lot about health and fitness and what it means to me. So in this episode, we talk about how Bre got into coaching and why she decided on this path, why setting goals and self-discipline is important, and also the importance of living a balanced lifestyle. If any of that tickles ya fancy then give it a listen.

Humans have a natural attraction to tragedies; you see it in everyday life when there is a car accident, someone is injured, and the general population flock to see for themselves what has happened. It is as though this action is almost like an instinct that draws people to these events. These events have evolved into people now also being attracted to other tragedies such as movies, books and even music.
But can doing things such as listening to a 'sad song' actually have any benefits? In this episode I explain why there are benefits and the reason you should put your headphones on, close your eyes and play the song you feel is the saddest in your playlist. Some of these points you might already know or they sound too simple to need explaining, but I always enjoying have the science to back things up!

In 2020, a lot of people experienced long-distance relationships between partners, family and friends; my friend Holly was one of those. With a slight twist though as she did long distance with her partner for the first six months of their relationship because of their jobs. I thought it would be interesting to chat with Holly about her experience and how she managed to stay positive and offer any advice on how you can survive it too!
SPOILER ALERT: It's a happy ending folks, Holly moved for love and they recently got engaged so hold onto hope cause this is a pretty special story!

Attachment theory is something I have found to be very interesting and helpful in understanding some of the dynamics of my relationships. In this episode, I explain what a secure, anxious and avoidant attachment look like in a relationship. It's important to remember that although some of the qualities may sound familiar, no one person's experience is the same and all I want is to just open up the conversation around what we expect from ourselves and others in our relationships. Knowledge is power and the more we can educate ourselves and become more self-aware, the healthier and stronger our relationships can become.
If you're interested in knowing what attachment style you could be, take the quiz I've linked below (it's was the easiest and quickest one I found you could do). If you want to know more (because I know I whizzed through a lot of the info in the episode), have a watch and read of the other two links if you want to know more.

How many times do you get trapped into the idea to set new year resolutions, but then can't stick to them longer than a month? Anyone? Just me? Well, this year I'm taking it seriously and have set some goals, so I did some research into why we should set goals and how we can actually keep working towards them (even after January ends). I cover some of my own goals, why setting goals allows us to actually have more fun, and how temptation bundling may be the answer for you to stay motivated.
