Episode 391: The habits that make top practice owners unstoppable
There's a brutal truth that separates average even good practice owners from the unstoppable ones. It's not luck, intelligence, or how long you've been in business. It's your habits. In this episode, Tristan exposes the daily disciplines the top 5% of practice owners live by and the habits that keep everyone else busy, overwhelmed, and stuck. You'll discover: Why your current habits are perfectly designed to give you your current results The power of ruthless time discipline (and why "diary is the boss") How top performers obsess over data, not drama, to scale with precision Why relentless learning, coaching, and peer groups are non-negotiable for real growth Success doesn't come from doing more. Episode 390: The Brutal Truth About Confidence Most Practice Owners Refuse to Face
Most practice owners think they're confident—but the brutal truth is, most only have conditional confidence. When things are going well, they're unstoppable. But the moment pressure hits—staff leave, leads slow, revenue dips—their confidence vanishes. In this episode, Tristan reveals the truth about confidence that most practice owners refuse to face—and how to build the kind that's unshakable, repeatable, and makes success inevitable. You'll discover: Why confidence isn't a feeling—it's a byproduct of action (and how waiting to "feel ready" keeps you stuck) How comparison kills confidence, and the simple mindset shift to compete only with who you were 90 days ago Why confidence without competence is just ego in disguise, and how to build real confidence through systems and skills The one uncomfortable action that will build your "confidence muscle" faster than anything else Real confidence isn't built by waiting. It's earned through action—especially when you don't feel ready. P.S. Episode 388: How to Raise Your Standards (and Watch Your Business Rise With Them)
Tactics help—but standards transform. In this episode, Tristan and Dave unpack the one lever that moves every metric: raise your standards. When the owner becomes the thermostat (not the thermometer), congruent in word and deed, the whole team levels up. Expect more, demonstrate more, and your practice will follow. You'll discover: Why the standard you walk past is the standard you accept—and how to stop normalizing mediocrity How to lead like a thermostat, not a thermometer, so your team rises to your level The two-thirds rule: your team mirrors your standard—so set it higher than what you expect How to stay congruent and inspired, raising your standards from the inside out so your team follows naturally Strong culture turns ordinary teams into extraordinary ones. When everyone rows to a higher standard, growth becomes inevitable. P.S. Episode 387: Why fear of failure is keeping you trapped
The unspoken truth is that fear—not tactics, time, or talent—is what's holding most practice owners back. In this episode, Tristan breaks down how to reframe fear, take courageous action, and build the mindset that fuels business growth. You'll learn how to move from hesitation to momentum using simple, proven frameworks that top-performing practice owners use every day. You'll discover: Why fear is false evidence appearing real—and how to break its control over your decisions The Thought → Action → Result → Belief → Identity loop that keeps you stuck (and how to flip it) A simple reframe to turn "I can't" into "I'm learning" The Four Cs Framework (Commitment → Courage → Capability → Confidence) that transforms fear into progress Fear fades when you move forward with purpose. Episode 386: How to Transform Team Culture Into a Thriving Business Engine
Most practices don't have a "people problem"—they have a standards problem. In this episode, Tristan and Sarah reveal how to design culture on purpose: define values, hire against them, manage to them daily, and protect them by acting fast when someone isn't a fit. The result? A culture that powers growth like an engine. You'll discover: How to define 8–12 values so they're more than wall art A hiring pipeline that tests values up-front  The thermometer vs. thermostat mindset: enforce standards so A-players don't slide Why toxic high performers cost you more than they bring in—and when to move fast Strong culture turns ordinary teams into extraordinary ones. When everyone rows in the same direction, growth becomes inevitable. P.S. Episode 385: How to Break Beliefs Holding Back Your Business
We don't act on "truth", we act on beliefs. And most of those were formed in childhood, then reinforced for years because they're convenient. In this episode, Tristan and Dave unpack how limiting beliefs quietly shape your marketing, hiring, pricing, and leadership and a practical process to bust them so you can build the business (and identity) you actually want. In this episode you'll learn Belief vs. truth: why a belief is just a feeling of certainty (often without evidence) and how that keeps owners stuck. The convenient assumption trap: common unhelpful beliefs in practices (e.g., "good hires don't exist," "marketing is salesy," "I shouldn't raise fees"). The results loop: Thoughts → Actions → Results → Beliefs → Identity—how to interrupt it and rewire it on purpose. Pain/pleasure & secondary gain: why your brain prefers the familiar (even when it hurts growth) and how to stop avoiding the right actions. Try-it-on method (24–72 hrs): adopt a new belief temporarily to lower resistance, take small aligned actions, and stack proof. Identity upgrades: moving from "I am not a marketer/leader" to identities that match your next-level outcomes. Remember, your beliefs shape your business. Break the ones that hold you back, build the ones that move you forward, and you'll create the practice and life you've always wanted. P.S.
